Controlling a KP2 With A Korg AX3000g Footpedal Via MIDI

Post by adso2004 »

Hello

As the subject matter shows i want to control a kp2 with my ax3000g footpedal.

speifically i want to assign kp2 program numbers to footpedal presets for example

whenever i select on the ax3000g on bank 0, program 3. i want it to send a program
change message to the kp2 to change to preset 75.

and

whenever i select on the ax3000g on bank 0, program 4. i want it to send a program
change message to the kp2 to change to preset 68.

every time iv tryed to follow the manual all the it changes to the corrisponding one
for example

Ax3000g Kaoss Pad 2
--------------------------------------------
bank 0, program 1 preset 00
bank 0, program 2 preset 01
bank 1, program 1 preset 04
bank 2, program 1 preset 08

and so on.

is there anyway so assign a preset like 75 or whatever to any bank and program or does it have to be the one that it is naturally assigned too?

i suggest checking out bome's midi translator.
you can take a midi message and translate it into the message you want it to be quite easily. the free version should have enough for you to cobble together a patch as long as you can make the midi go out from the foot pedal into your computer and out of your computer into your kaoss pad

oh.
and there's no reason to post the exact same thing in two different threads!??

Agree w/ Salamander on the last point...Anyhow in case you were checking here for answers I'll quote myself from your other thread:
I posted a thread around here for Kaoss pad 2 and 3 tips for guitarists. The main subject I covered was midi foot control over your pads:

go here:

http://www.samedaymusic.com/product--BEHFCB1010

Behringer FCB1010 will do exactly what you are asking for.

The AX3000 is not designed to do what you want with the Kaoss Pad 2.

Any guitarist looking to control midi via foot controller swears by this thing.

Also there is an editor/librarian for this box; came out last year.
best of luck to you.
