kp3 midi multi mode

Post by audible9 »

Hi. I'm using the KP3 with Live 7 and wondered how I could trigger two or more different effects - 1 program setting on midi channel 1, another program setting on midi channel 2, and so on.

I have the KP3 connected to my computer via USB and can receive midi from the KP3 into Live and also can send midi from Live to the KP3 but only on one channel at a time. Is there a multi setting on the KP3 that is similar to commercial synthesizers like the Virus TI and the Nord Lead? I'm trying to add KP3 effects to a track I'm finishing up but this process would be alot easier if I could record 16 different kp3 effects on 16 different midi channels and play them back in the sequence.

Please advise and thanks in advance for your help!

if you're talking about using more than one effect on the KP3 at once, forget about it.

if you're talking about triggering two effects in live via midi using the KP3 as a controller, then it could be done using bome's midi translator.

Unfortunately I was talking about using more than one effect on the KP3 at once. However I may not need to do that and could keep the effects on 1 channel and just switch from 1 program setting to the next throughout the sequence. Sorry if this has been asked before but is there a way to record the particular program setting via midi into Live? If I could do that I could record changes from 1 program setting to the next and that would work with what I'm trying to do.

Thanks for the speedy response!
