The V-Machine is tiny hardware device that can run VSTi's. So by installing Samplelord on it I'll end up with a universal sampler that will load all the popular Sample formats and it will stream the lot from a disk.

It's tiny enough to sit on the OASYS and it has a learn function. So if I press the learn buttons and I move a controller on the OASYS, it will attach certain functions to that controller. With the level of support the OASYS has for controlling external devices, I expect the V-Machine integrate very tightly into the OASYS. Almost as if it was part of the OASYS.

Not bad for a device that only costs €333 over on Thomann.

Please post about your experience with this device and its integration into OASYS.

Will do....
Just got an email this morning from Thomann saying that it has been dispatched, so I'll have it Thursday.

I'll video the unboxing and do a quick little demo of it connected to the OASYS when I get it. If this works out half as well as I hope it will and the integration is tight into the OASYS, I will be converting OASYS ASSAULT to Sampleload format for the V-Machine.

KARO might consider doing the same. The optimised integration for the OSASYS control panel will suite the M3 as well. It would be a very nice way to bring massive high quality libraries to both OASYS and M3 users while only ever having to work with one single format.

Karo -

Please consider also very high quality (per note) samples of the following:

Eminent 310 (across numerous settings)
ARP Solina String Ensemble
Rolans VP330 (Strings and Human chorus)

Actually I own a VP330 and am sampling it - but again I'm really slow and do not have a lot of time - so if you were to do it it would be a fantastic package. In fact with the VP330 you could offer a 'VP330' package/combo incorporating VP330 strings, human chorus and then Vocoder and approximation to roland chorus as an effect setting; mapped to the control surface similar to the original VP330

Another approach to sampling could be to sample, per note, the raw waveforms of:

Minimoog
Roland Promars
Korg 700/800
Arp Odyssey

And other iconic monophonics and the do a lot of work analysing their filter and envelopes and then emulate these, as best as possible, in HD1 programs - with controllers set up to edit the important VCO, VCF and Envelope settings. Key here would be smartest possible programming of HD1 program parameters - Envelope rates, slopes etc to try to capture the instrument as best as possible. So - as critical to the release are the programming and packaging as much as the sampling.

For example - for a 'Minimoog' program /combi - one would consider giving three distinct oscillators, with the ability to switch multisamples; while mixer, filter and envelopes would closely map those of the Minimoog. Tricky and not exact I know; but they could make for very useful packages/instruments.

Phew - that would be astounding.

However - you're not making life easy for your self are you? Even Moog themsleves are under scrutiny by the analogue/vintage synth community to see if they can recreate their classic. Many doubt they can do it.

So sampling a Moog Taurus 1 well would be some challange. You only have to listent to Jarre's 'Concerts in China' to hear the rich, deep evolving nature of this analogue beast. If you can sample that well - you should seriously look at packaging it for well beyond the OASYS!

Wishing you luck in this "High Noon" venture, should you decide to take it on !! :-)

as we all know we will publish shortly the KFM-1 and KFM-2, then comes the KM400 (Mellotron library) and in summer, we release the KSL Symphonic Library...

Now our question ...

what for a new library do you want to see in the future from KARO?

1. Drums

2. Choir

3. Etno

4 Guitar

5. Others...

Best wishes,

Dear friends,
I am very interested to the work of KARO and I like very much the work done thanks to KARO!
In the future I 'd like to find libraries about :

1) Choir
2) Organ
3) Etno
4) Drums

There are very beautiful examples of choir inserted in 3D!

I would like that Karo will give his professionalism in the future in the development of Programs on the motors of synthesis LAC1 and MOD-7 that I find very powerful but very little exploited.
I would like to be able to recreate with LAC1 and MOD-7 the voice of synth as: Moog Modular, Polimoog, Yamaha CS80, Yamaha GX1, ARP 2600. PPG, Hammond
Why they are asking bookstores of Guitar? because many want to turn l ' OASYS into an ARRANGER? I 'd like that OASYS was developed for reproducing very well keyboard sound and not other instruments, if I need a guitar bass I will call a bass man. for a guitar I will call a guitarist etc. etc.
Too much waste of memory, with programs that a keyborder doesn't have to play...
A dear regard to all of You and a great thanks to KARO MUSIC

Ciao,
Giuseppe
