Karo Strings - how to remove that "Vibrato"

Post by OysterPearl »

Any idea? I intend to use these strings and want a STABLE sound without any Vibrato / Tremolo / modulation effect.. could not easily remove the nature of these strings through Oasys. Any pointers please?

I'm assuming you've tried disabling any effects that come with the programs.

How familiar are you with the program settings in the O? If you've disabled any Amp modulation within the program, then it sounds like the string samples themselves contain tremelo. (This is a common complaint about the standard samples in the Motif keyboards.)

This is correct - it's the samples. I like the vibrato and when I don't want it, I use OASYS factory samples, instead.

Hi elevated,
I guess the raw samples contain vibrato.

Mike,
I agree. These samples are so good that I want to use them even for a case where I want a stable strings character..

Can anyone from Karo suggest a workaround (if any)? I'm not complaining about these samples but there are times when I don't need the built in modulation.

Seems unlikely to use the same samples and avoid hearing the vibrato effect that is PART of the samples.

The only way I can think of is to use an LFO controlling the pitch and/or amp in the program, and have it tuned opposite the sampled vibrato-- To negate the effect. But it would take some fine tuning and a lot of luck to come out sounding acceptable.
