Oasys owner but need real SAX part

Post by ianhut »

Hi all

I have had an Oasys for a year or so now. Recently I re worked a backing track I did for someone from my old Triton on the new Oasys. I have pretty much got the whole thing done now with the exception of the saxaphone part (the track is careless whisper - GM). Interestingly I used to gig and do backing tracking for artists. These days I no longer gig due to work commitments, but looking through the forums no one ever seems to post what they are working on whether it be a new original track or re-creating something old, if they do do they ever share it with us so we can listen...maybe that is happening and I am just missing a trick here??. I personally get pleasure out of both - but trying to achieve an accruate recreation is not easy either.

Do other use their Oasys and other equipment to do this. I know I cant be on my own.

Back to the Sax part...I have tried the demo version of EXs-3 Brass & Woodwinds Collection and can get a decent recreation of the saxaphone part but not what I would call accurate to the original, and yes I know that would be difficult using a keyboard. But I am not about to pay for the EXs-3 B&W just to really get this part done, but wondered if anyone plays sax would want to give it a go.

I would draft a mixdown of what I have now minus sax and send in what ever format is preferable.

SO..anyway Sax Part - Careless Whispers, any takers?

if you don´t mind using VST for that, just go with Mr. Sax T , that´s best virtual sax ever IMO fantastic!

Reduce the noise osc (drop level), adjust filter frequency (trim high overtones), add "exciter" and smooth reverb, and just EQ -- all to your taste.
