How to keep Programs sounding the same in MicroX MULTI mode?

Post by K-Type »

Hi,

Tough question cause the PROGRAM sounds, when transferred to COMBI or MULTI modes, don't preserve their effects. We have to adjust the volumes of each track and the transferred PROGRAMS sound awful.

I would like to know if there is any trick to copy the effects and arpeggios from the PROGRAM to the MULTI mode. It can be directly in the keyboard or via software.

For example, Micro X allows copying effects from COMBI to MULTI.

in the IFX page on the edit menu, you should find that the 'utility' menu gives you the option to copy effects from combi, program.....

my TR isn't set up at the moment but I may be able to have a look if you can't find it...

Many thanks. It was easy to find it. But do we have to use only one insert effect to all the channels (tracks)? Is there how to choose one IFX for each track? I noticed that for the MFXs all the tracks must have the same, the only differences are the SEND levels.

Again, it's a pity we can't transfer the PROGRAMS with their effects, cause we try and choose them in the PROGRAM menu so we have this "extra step" to create the "MULTI" group of PROGRAMS we want.

Rgds,

There is only one Insert effect. the board doesn't have enough processing power for more than three effects.
You get what you pay for really, it is essentially a budget keyboard.

but even the other tritons with more insert effects - some of the programs use more effects. they won't necesarily fit into combi mode.
It is well worth spending time in the FX pages learning how everything works, because really you have to make the best of what you have. for example, two programs might have reverb. you don't really need different reverbs! just use a send and send different amounts to that one reverb.
really, reverb is lost in a live situation so its not even worth it. you could use that slot for other effects.
it also gives you the opportunity to tailor the effects for your particular song without having to adjust the original program.
