Cracked and chipped side skirts.

Post by Orbvs_Tomarvm »

Hello forum,

After extensive gigging and touring, both side skirts on my extreme are pretty much shot to sh*t and need replacing. Does anyone know if i can procure these from anywhere? I do know korg is finished with the triton, so i'm guessing this rules them out no?

Thank you, Tom.

I have the same problem, I wonder why Korg chose to use that type of material for side skirts? It looks kind of cheap and to me is the only let down to an otherwise brilliant instrument.

anyway, does someone around here know if there's an option like the one mentioned above for Holland?

Hi Sander,

Maybe you can let me know how you get on with that because over here they are approximately £50 ...EACH! ...and i need both left and right panel's.

Only thing that annoys me about it, is that from korg usa, like everything else, its probably at least HALF that. Anyone know why?

Goodluck in your quest for them by the way,

Tom.

Hi Tom,

I'll let you know, I need both as well!
I indeed recall having seen some messages talking about $15 per side panel, so I hope it'll be closer to that than to your £50

No luck with this, I called the Korg importer here in Holland and they seem to have the parts in stock, but they are not willing to send them directly to end-users, so they advised me to contact my Korg retailer, which I did. But even they did not get any decent reaction.

I will probably try again soon, but if someone knows of a useful alternative, let me know.

thanks

OK so there finally seems to be some progress.
I tried a different retailer and they seem to be able to deliver the side panels.

For a set of side panels they have charged me € 70.
Expensive but still cheaper than buying a second-hand replacement Extreme just for its side panels :)

If someone has a repair guide that would be brilliant....

Wow, Sander thats great news; approximately 50% cheaper than it would cost me to purchase from korg uk. Would you be able to pass on that retailer's address to me please?

Many thanks,

Tom.

Hi Tom,

yes ofcourse, actually it was an online transaction through
http://www.bax-shop.nl/

The website obviously is completely in Dutch, but you can reach them at helpdesk at bax-shop dot nl.

I'm sure they are willing to help if you drop them an email.

Let me know how it goes!

Excellent sander, thanks for that. I did have a little look there but sadly dutch is just one more talent i fail to possess

Tell me, have you recieved your panels yet; how are they; what was the postage costs, and were they securely packaged? (baring in mind they'd have to travel further to the uk - if applicable)

I pretty much urgently require these now, as i have just purchased a 76 extreme, so need to get rid of my 61, and cracked panels are not going to do the final sale price any favours at all...

Congratulations once again, and thanks for the info,

Tom.
