Hit [SHIFT] + [SAMPLING] to resample. Resampling on the KP3 is of the whole output of anything that's playing at the time on it.

No problem, and I don't think that it was a stupid question. The way Korg uses the terms sampling/resampling is a bit confusing. Sampling/resampling are doing the same task - just at different points in the internal audio path. It would have been clearer if they used the terms "Sample Audio Input" and "Sample FX/Synth Output" instead.

i own a kaossilator and mini kp.. have been getting some great sounds from them, am looking forwar do thooking it up with the kp3 and maybe kaos pro

im a sucker for this touch scrren interface
