PS60
wow dunno about that Chilly
this thing hits a needed sweet spot -- keybed is much MUCH better than the junos, the sounds are sharp and the "mix" knobs allow for instant creative combinations with NO MENUS. that's huge!
I wish there were more knobs for synth modification purposes, and the thing really needs more bass sounds. perhaps someday.
but at this price point it's pretty undeniable. played one for 10 minutes and even tho I didn't need another board I had to have it.

Perspective
I just ordered the PS-60 from Zzounds (it'll be here Monday).
I can't afford nor would I spend <$1000 for a keyboard. I know it's not as nice as an upper-line board, but it's good enough for me. (read my info on my introduction thread) ...I also don't need 88 keys to play my little rock keyboard parts. 61 keys is usually plenty.
I prefer a synth-feel board and 1000+ sounds are great, but of no use on stage. I need decent Piano, Organ, Strings, Brass & Vibes sets of sounds, easy access to them on the fly. More buttons and knobs will only complicate things. Most of the time, I'm switching back & fourth from guitar to keys and I need sounds to be quickly ready at a moments notice. (because the singer doesn't always go by the list)
The PS-60 seems to be the keyboard of my dreams, like I designed it myself. If it's got a solid build/structure, I'm sure I'll be very happy with it. The keys HAVE to feel more substantial than my MicroKorg, (don't they?)
For the price ($699) and the weight (10.4 lbs) and the layout/sound selection/features.....it's probably the best performance/gigging board I've seen on the market for under $1000. I'm completely stoked!

I just got a PS60 and I love it !
It's a lot less complicated for a simple guy like me...
By the way...
Since the architecture of the PS60 is quite different from other Korg products,
Would it be possible to create a new PS60 section in this forum ?
Also, since the PS60 uses the EDS engine but does only have a subset of the M3/M50 waveforms,
Would it be possible to create a new PS60 dowload section in this forum so we could exchange patches ?
This is even more needed since the PS60 only has 440 patches and there is room for 72 more (for a total of 512).
I want mine full !!!
I would specially like more synth and bass patches...
Thanks in advance !

I would likely let go of my laptop/MainStage rig for a PS76(not 73, every keyboardists in bands play with guitars and basses that are tuned in E most of the times) with quality keybed à la M3. But i think I'm no longer the target Korg aims at. There's more chance that we'll see a MicroPS60 with 61 nano keys and stereo 1/8 inch output, no pedal inputs whatsoever, etc.
