Hi there...
Im trying to get my head around working with the A/B parts.
I "get" the concept of a closed hi hat and an open hi hat being mutually exclusive, however I cant seem to work out which to put where
is there a PRIORITY order ie if I have laid down 16 16ths with 6A and then dot over ever 4th with 6B would B always overwrite A? or is it the other way round .... or will newest always overwrite oldest etc?
i cant get my head around it.

if 6A and 6B are both played on the same step, which is "newest" ?phillwilson wrote:is there a PRIORITY order ie if I have laid down 16 16ths with 6A and then dot over ever 4th with 6B would B always overwrite A? or is it the other way round .... or will newest always overwrite oldest etc?
why not try it and see what happens?
and if it doesn't work the way you want, just don't sequence them on the same step.

in the context of what i do I work in "real " realtime...IE I begin with an empty sequence every time (sounds loaded but no event triggers)....once I punch in the first thing I often do is get my closed hi hats in to astablish the sense of pace and let me find myself.
it was my hope that the B part would overwrite the A part or visa versa cos obviously if I have a pattern
c,c,c,c c,c,c,c, c,c,c,c, c,c,c,c, (ie 16ths of closed )
and then want to modify live in realtime
c,c,c,o,c,c,c,o,c,c,c,o,c,c,c,o (so theres an open hat on the 4ths)
it would have been nice if one had "overwrite " priority... I did obviously try this but I dont really have a setup that affords practice in a conventional sense so i didnt know if i was missing osmthing.
to me it sounds like because the closed hi hat is shorter... adding an open hi hat doesnt overwrite it fully, but does put an awe

From page 59 of the manual:
Drum parts 6A and 6B, and 7A and 7B, cannot be played simultaneously. If both 'A' and 'B' are triggered simultaneously, only 'B' (i.e., 6B or 7B) will sound.
In summary, B overrides A.

Anytime! I have the manual saved to my work pc and I look over it often. I could scan it and send as a .tiff file if you can open those?
