Stephen Kay *NOT* showing KARMA Live at 12noon PST (revised)

Post by xmlguy »

Stephen Kay was supposed to be showing KARMA on Motif Live in 4 minutes from this post at:

http://www.yamaha.com/namm/

The broadcast did not occur according to their schedule of events and the video overlay promising "Motif Demo Next".

Yep, it looks like they screwed it up. The previous performance had audio and video, and the video prompter said Motif demo next, and they even showed him setting up.

Yeah, I saw Stephen sitting down sporting a funky haircut, getting ready and everything, but it suddenly cut elsewhere.

Funny thing is that right now there are about 10 times as many views of this thread than seemed to be in his in-person audience, before the broadcast shutdown.

I'll bet he doesn't get a dime in additional sales from the people who happen to pass buy his demo at NAMM than if he stayed at home. I expect that if he did a webcast that was preannounced in advance on the major music webforums, he'd get at least 100 to 1000 times more potential customers than those herds of swag collectors at NAMM. We're the ones who actually buy this stuff. The local managers at all my local music gear stores know that when I show up, I'm a buyer, not a lookieloo.

i always thought of namm like the annual porn convention. of course there are more people at home using the product then the amount of people at the convention looking at the performers
