Well, a lot of people will argue that it's "old technology" and "old sounds", but still, having tried K25xx and k26xx, I gotta say that I'm really impressed with PC3KAkos Janca wrote:Hi vEddY,

Also, my usage model for Kurzweil (so far K2500R, now PC3K8) is the complete opposite to the way I use OASYS. I only need to have limited number of superb classic sounds on the Kurz. I don't need a vast selection of sounds because OASYS just kills Kurz in that respect, hands-down. Orch sounds - all types of more solo-alike strings, brass and woodwinds - are what PC3K8 is just amazing for. Analog-type sounds from VA are so bad compared to AL-1 from the OASYS that it hurts my ears, for example. I can hear a s**tload of aliasing happening and I really do mind that.
OASYS is gonna be the central part of the setup, that's for sure. But now I have pretty much all of the sounds covered. And I've reduced the number of software instruments and stuff like that to bare minimum. I have KLC on my MacPro and really use it extensively, and I still have EW's stuff as well, but not for long. Korg's KLC really kicks ass. Now if only they were to add Trinity, Triton, Z1 and 01 to some new KLC. KLC - Legendary Edition

... and out of pure fun, shits 'n' giggles, I also got myself a Triton Rack. It was dirtcheap so I bought one. It still sounds pretty fresh to meAkos Janca wrote:Hi vEddY,

Hold on a minute!! lol, does that mean I/We ( meaning OASYS users who paid for theirs) can ask, and get a refund for the many £100's I/we spent on the upgrades LOLMartinHines wrote:Given the release of the Kronos, I would like to see Korg to offer to unlock all of the OASYS EXis for free.
It would be a no money spent goodwill gesture on Korg's part.

No. That would cost Korg money, actual real money. Unlocking all OASYS EXis would only cost Korg potential future sales.AnthonyB wrote:Hold on a minute!! lol, does that mean I/We ( meaning OASYS users who paid for theirs) can ask, and get a refund for the many £100's I/we spent on the upgrades LOLMartinHines wrote:Given the release of the Kronos, I would like to see Korg to offer to unlock all of the OASYS EXis for free.

I purchased every OASYS upgrade and I wouldn't expect to get any money back.

Yes, Korg discontinued the OASYS prematurely. GET OVER IT!!!
If companies want to stay in business, they sometimes must make difficult decisions, especially in bad economic times. A company can't keep spending development money on products that no longer bring them any financial return.
