Just wondering:
How is it possible that supply constraints (failed chip producer) are having mass impact,
If kronos is on sale in Japan from 15 days and some forumers are already playing it?
Is korg selling PROTOTYPES in Japan?
I mean: if a product is mass produced, it comes out in bulk deliveries. Either they produce 3000 out of 10000 planned for th first years, or they don't deliver any.
They don't sell 12 then stop.
So, the idea of Japan having it 15 days ago in Japan, while USA waits 5 months, seems odd.

I am checking with my source on my K88 pre-order. He still says late June.EnjoyRC wrote:June 2012? He even thinks the September first date is more generic than accurate. What puzzles him is all the trouble he is having getting enough information from Korg to even answer his clients' specific questions. Perhaps--to take the long view--the delay will lead to a Kronos already enhanced upon release?
I have repeated the various Internet reports on delays to him. He is going to check with his Korg source and update me.

I can't comment on expected shipping dates in the USA, but all three models are already for sale in Japan.

It's understandable. I work for a Japanese company. Some of our suppliers are no longer there. The tsunami washed the factory plant, blueprints, and computers away. Not to mention some of the employees are no longer living.
At least we have our health.
I will just get a new pair of monitors until September. Im thinking Focal CMS 65.

Well I'm glad for them and hope these use this time to continue polishing the kronos. Maybe add those extra 2GB of ram would be nice and make sure no knobs are falling off of it. I'd sure rather they got it right then release something faulty that had to be shipped back to Japan for God's sake. Use the Japanese as guinea pigs please, they won't have to pay $200 to have it shipped back.
I do like my Korg ESX and find it hard to believe there would be issues with the hardware from a company that made such a well built product for $400. Their $4000 product should be pure titanium.
Having said that I have cancelled my order and am going to await user reviews once the product hits US shores to make sure their aren't some big issues causing all of this. This product is kinda a big deal, it's the first synth of it's kind in existence I think and it can't be that easy to pull off such an "all-powerful" instrument.

I was told by email yesterday that the shipment date has changed to September for my 88 and that was from Sweetwater and what is funny is that the day before I was still on schedule for late June. They must have been notified that there is a huge delay on all of them but the 88's seem to be last in line.
When something has been delayed/pushed back once, and then twice.McHale wrote:*JUST* got a call from my Sweetwater rep. He said the date they were just given from Korg was...
SEPTEMBER
I'll leave my pre-order in, but not sure I'll care about it much by the time it comes out.
Tell me, just how much faith you can have in September. I think that's just the latest window of time.
At this point, I don't believe they can put a finger on a date. When it gets here, then it's here.

It's not like the Kronos is going to be less awesome the longer it takes.
