Are you really that closed minded? People do things differently and prefer different working environments. Many musical geniuses also saw early graves indulging in substances that helped fuel their creativity. Should we all be doing that too?franzlp wrote:spotless music room? Boy you guys are too anal . Ever heard of Felix Unger? Look him up. The best creativity comes out of chaos as the universe shows us. By the way messy is the way to genius...and you'll be in good company....
About Beethoven
Beethoven wrestled notes onto the page. For him composing music was a messy, physical process. Ink was splattered, wax burned, erasers wore holes in the paper.....
Just my 2 cents.

Wow- that's a bit much! The thread is to show your setup, and he did. He also said he spends 8 hours a day in that room, a solid indication that it's not a showroom, it's a very functional setup.franzlp wrote:spotless music room? Boy you guys are too anal . If this was someone you were working with or for, and they were being controlling/perfectionistic/anal, then your comment would have its place. But in this context it's just plain rude passing judgement like that- totally out of place IMO, just inviting defensive back and forths.
Personally, I've been at both ends of the spectrum creatively- everything's a total mess, everything is well ordered. For me anyway, the more seriously I take my creativity/music, the more ordered it becomes. Every single aspect of my setup is thought through, and I'm constantly looking for better ergonomics, cleaner setups, optimal monitoring, etc., all of which I see in other people who take their art seriously.
It's not the only way, but it sure makes me feel like I've got an island of calm sanity in the midst of the never ending chaos of developing myself musically.

I totally agree. Commenting negatively on someones home is out of order.Randelph wrote:..........Wow- that's a bit much! The thread is to show your setup, and he did........
Can we get back on topic, which was peoples setups. It was not about the best working environment, which is purely an individual's preference and there are no rights or wrongs here.

The universe shows us the way to creativity? Messy and genius are directly proportional (or worse, causal)? I think you are rationalizing your own messy ways.franzlp wrote:spotless music room? What is the device on its own stand between the laptop and the keyboards? It has a big blue dial in the front.EnjoyRC wrote:In the case...

Current Korg Gear: KRONOS 88 (4GB), M50-73 (PS mod), RADIAS-73, Electribe MX, Triton Pro (MOSS, SCSI, CF, 64MB RAM), SQ-64, DVP-1, MEX-8000, MR-1, KAOSSilator, nanoKey, nanoKontrol, 3x nanoPad 2, 3x DS1H, 7x PS1, FC7 (yes Korg, NOT Yamaha).
I'll agree that that Gator case is perfect for the Kronos 88. My case came last Monday, and I've used it two times. It fits snugly as if it were made for the K88. There is just enough room on the back for a power cord and damper pedal. I did set mine up differently than in the photo. There are about 2 1/2 inches of extra width which I put in the back of the board with the front of the board touching the front edge of the case.
Related subject: So far I've kept the little cardboard inserts that originally came slipped just into the front of the keyed. Korg recommended using them when you transport the keyboard. I have used them this way and stored them in the case when I'm at home. Anyone else planning to use these little pieces when transporting? (I assume that only applies to the 73 and 88)
Thanks,
Chris
