Combi Karma Conversion

Post by danmusician »

I know this is a LONG shot, but here goes.

If anyone has programed a Combi Karma on the Kronos than imitates I-A029 "Son of Nature" from the M3, I'd be interested in it.

It's beyond my limited programming ability to do. Some of the individual patches need to be re-created, such as U-C065 "Jungle Habitat."

I'd be willing to make a small donation to someone's college fund if you happen to have it on the Kronos.

Thanks,

Dan

I love a good challenge! If you have any mp3 demos of the combi in action let me know and I can use that along with the info I have on the M3 to try to make this a reality for you (and everyone else :)).
I know it will take a while to re-create (based on my own experiences with Wavestation, MS-20 and Polysix Legacy Collection conversion) but it could be very rewarding.
I don't own or have access to an M3 so I'd need your ear for the finished product. PM me or respond here to let me know if you're game and we'll go from there!

Cheers!

Cynkh: will you convert it manually or automating it? I really like your investment in analyzing and implementing all kind of conversions. When I buy a Kronos I can benefit from a lot of older synths at the same time.

I'll automate the process- most likely with Java to start with. I've got some MIDI packages I worked on a while ago in Java with some useful classes for parsing MIDI streams for note and CC values. That along with the nice MIDI implementation literature Korg provided on Kronos restore DVD 2 () and we should have ourselves a little converter in the not-too-distant future!

Cheers!

It would be nice to have a conversion for older synths, not only that everybody gains instantly like 1000 new sounds, but also the sounds which people are used at can be used immediately.

Hey, thanks! Sorry for the delay in responding. I was out of town for several days. My brother lives in upstate NY and his whole town was devastated by Irene. Let me get caught up on a few things and I'll be in touch with more info.

Blessings,

Dan
