Using a Daw to record with m3 midi

Hi guys i'm new to this forum so if there is already an answer to this can you please point me in the right direction.

What I want to do basically is to record using the m3 as a controller in pro tools so i can edit what i am playing using protools, but use the sounds I made within in m3. (so lets say I play the note a bit to long, but I don't want to cut the audio, just trim the midi note and have the sound react as if i played it that way) would I use the m3 editor as an insturment plugin? and if so how to go about doing this. Thanks guys.

You can use the M3 Editor as a VST plugin in Protools and record there MIDI data from the M3. Check this document from Korg:

And make sure you have the latest versions of everything mentioned there:
