:D I bought this tutorial a week ago, it's very well done, I find tutorials like these are so much nicer and easier than plodding through a manual as it's so much easier to follow through the menu systems.

Man if it was $20 or so I'd probably buy it. $70 is just too much for me just for someone to decipher the manual for me...

Care to share the download link? lol.

I bought their Alesis Fusion tutorial DVD years ago and learned quite a bit from it. I might pick this thing up eventually, too. They do a very good job of getting you over the first hump and giving you the tools to get really deep into it.

If anything, I might use handbrake to chop it up into little video files to play in pieces.

It comes as 44 videos of 3 - 10mins each so it's pretty much chopped up already..

i have also bought this. for me it is much easier to learn when i can watch it and not read it from the manual. look always for video-tutorial. have also a lot for the tyros and fantom.

If you want to get started with a quick but well-done overview on everything, Korg put out a 6-part video tutorial. The total length for all 6 video tutorials combined is about 1 hour. I've watched these a couple of times already, and still plan on watching again... I get more out of it with each time I watch. Here's the links:

Is it better than the manuals? I mean, is there more info than the manuals?

$70 is definitely worth it -- I just ordered mine.

You would be lucky to get a private tutor for one hour for $70, assuming that tutor actually knew something about the Kronos.

Paul Duffey, the owner of Sudosonic, has been producing Korg keyboard videos for years.

If you actually read the manuals completely you can get the same content as the videos, but has everyone actually read the entire manual cover to cover?

I suspect the price will go down in six months, similar to previous titles he has released.

Look at the sample YouTube video (1 chapter)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOaKE2K_CUQ

I have purchased a number of Sudosonic videos over the years, and generally everything he covers is in the manual. However, the videos are organized well, and most people won't read the entire manual cover to cover.

Well the obvious advantage is you can see exactly what's being changed and hear the kronos and what difference the changes/settings make, whereas a paper manual can only describe what the settings effect and what values you can enter.

I purchased this DVD yesterday and was able to download the videos immediately. I have watched 85% (still have to watch the videos on sampling). I highly recommend this DVD, especially for people like me who are new to workstations and modern synthesizers. He covers a lot, though honestly there is so much more that could be covered (for example, he went into depth on the HD1 engine, but barely touched the other eight). However, all of the basics are here. If you have struggled with the manuals because some of the terminology doesn't mean anything to you, this series of videos will help a lot.
