Hi guys,
I am running my Kronos (via regular midi cables) into Cubase. However nomatter what slider or knob I tweak - Cubase doesn't seem to respond to it. So what I am wondering is what setup I need to have inside the Kronos and Cubase to get them to talk? (ex. CC11 control) and/or just simply getting a volume fader to work ...
How to Kronos and Cubase to speak together ...

Well I don't have my Kronos yet so I can't give u an exact solution, but I did add controllers to cubase before and it's not automatic like in other daws. U have to go to devices, add new device and u have on the upper left side of that screen a "+" button. Try this way. Or check in cubase manual.

Bendor666 - what you said is correct, and there's a little more to it.
Thanks for your initial question Kronosn00b. As it turns out, there is an application on the Kronos CD #2 called Kronos_ExtSetup_e (Windows folder), and Kronos_ExtSetup.pkg (Mac folder). They include XML setup files for External Control of DAW or Plugin software from the Kronos.
After you install this application, you will find all of the External Setup files for various software products. Then, do the Cubase instructions given by Bendor666, but now go to "Import" on the Generic Remote screen and navigate to your Korg folder where within, you will find the Kronos folder.
In that folder, you will find the Steinberg folder.
In the Steinberg folder you will see a file called "Cubase_Korg.xml."
Import that file. Once you've imported it, it's best to save the file in the main Cubase folder.
The final step is on the Kronos itself. In Program mode (for example), go to the "Control Surface" tab, on the top right, select (or type in) #054 in the Setup box. This is the setup control number for Cubase. You now have volume and pan. When you look in the Steinberg folder on your computer, you will see that you have more objects to control like the VSTi's. I'm guessing you can save the Setup configuration with each program patch.
The included External Setups pdf file is VERY helpful as well.
The only thing I can't figure out is how to move from faders 1-8 to 9-16, etc. I suspect you may need another Generic Setup.
