Kronos sound paradise - big thumbs up to Korg and Karo
The delays have been considerable - from the first advertising last autumn to publishing in March 2012 at Messe 2012.
But the result is simply great, and in between all our debates about prices and delays we should take a minute and look at this:
- with the Kronos and the incredible engine pack we already got a keyboard which delivers the best and most flexible sound choices available in one synth, and endless sound programming options at our fingertips
- meanwhile we got a huge pool of additional options:
31 libraries so far
2 more to come in March and April
makes 33.
I think this is a moment to applaud the work of Korg and Karo in a separate thread: thumbs up for a great job done so far to all who have been working on these libraries!

Not going to happen in the near future I'm afraid: I've already pre-ordered the remaining 2012 production run of 61 and 88 key Kronii, one for each sample of each multi-sample of each EXs expansion.Sina172 wrote:I've been doing a LOT of importing of samples with the Auto-Load feature that I was running out of RAM on each one and the new libraries are filling up my Program and Combi Banks and I barely have enough room for the KARO Libraries now so I'm getting a few more 88's and 61's to occupy those libraries with soon.
Perhaps you can pick up a few more in 2013, or buy mine when I'm finished with them.
OK, I can but dream.

While the Kronos does seem expensive......
I just bought a Jupiter-80, cost was around $500 more, and don't get me wrong because this beast sounds and plays great.
The Kronos is one hell of a good value. You get more features, more control, more power, more fun.
Of course your application and needs determine the keyboard that's right for you, I am just stating the Kronos just give more than any of the others, period.

I bought a controlling stock interest in Korg Japan.
