Sell it? You want to buy it? Who is going to buy it and at what price? Anyone with a clue is aware of the keybed issue. Even if they were not, I could not in good conscience fail to disclose the issues once I became aware of them. Unless I'm willing to take a huge loss on the $3700 I paid for it, I'm stuck with this thing until it is made right. It's been almost a year.SanderXpander wrote:If you are still unhappy with it and with Korg's service just sell it man.

Isn't it possible to return it to the dealer for a full refund?Bruce Lychee wrote:Sell it? You want to buy it? Who is going to buy it and at what price? Here in holland the dealer is responsible for the gear they sell. If they can't repair it then you're entitled for a full refund because they sold you a malfunctioned synth that can't be repaired.
Waiting a year on a fix is simply not acceptable in my opinion, and there is no doubt that your keyboard is in a worse shape considering the photo, so that keyboard should be replaced not fixed with a replacing the contacts. What's the reason your keyboard still isn't replaced?
Mine was replaced about 1,5 month after the keyboard solution was acknowleged and made available by korg.
I really feel sorry for you, i can fully understand how you feel about this.

Unless a potential buyer reads this forum, I suspect they won't know about the issue. I purchased my first Kronos, unaware of the problem. Only started to become aware of it, just as I was returning my second Kronos.Bruce Lychee wrote: Anyone with a clue is aware of the keybed issue. However, I agree that it would be unethical to sell it without disclosure.
If you were this unhappy when you got it, why didn't you return it as defective? You're past that return period now and they never claimed when you got it that they were going to replace keybeds at all.Bruce Lychee wrote:Sell it? You want to buy it? I wasn't unhappy when I got it. Your second point is completely irrelevant. When I spoke to Korg USA the rep. assured me the entire keybed was going to be replaced. Furthermore, my first issue wasn't the note cutoff. That developed after a few months. My first issue was the completely irregular spacing and height differences from key to key. On that point alone, Korg USA told me they would do whatever was necessary to get my keyboard right.... It's been almost a year and I've been is perpetual holding pattern because of them.McHale wrote:If you were this unhappy when you got it, why didn't you return it as defective? I know you are a Korg supporter, but my experience with this product and Korg has been very disappointing and frustrating. I didn't buy an 88 to use it as a rack unit for the first year. I will say, however, that their customer service is friendly and professional. I just don't think they are being given good information from higher up.

keybed bla bla bla
It's been months now since I traded in my 73 for a 61 because of that wacky keybed..I've gone into various stores to play the weighted Kronos in hopes that i can get my hands on one that feels right, and so for...no go.
they all have that cut off ,staccato sound when you play soft and legato.
what a shame..I am so ready to buy one, but not until I am confident that the notes respond as they should on a weighted keyboard.
That other korg with the tube (SV 1) feels great!!!
why can't they use that keybed for the Kronos??????

Bruce,
I thought you were going to send your keyboard back long ago? What happened?
At this point, assuming the info about just changing the contacts is true, this doesn't mean they can't re-align the keys too. Why don't you send it back (unless you can't) and give them a chance to try and fix it?
Don't a number of people already have fixed boards from a while ago?? Why is yours taking so long? Especially since have been so vocal about it??

When the announcement of a fix came out, I simply wanted to understand what the fix entailed before sending it in. Once 1 person reported on the fix, I immediately contacted my local tech. He made it clear that there would be a long wait, so we arranged to preorder the new keybed because it seemed ridiculous to have the Kronos sitting in a shop. I gave him a refundable $300+ deposit for that purpose. I have simply been waiting for the part to come in.aron wrote:Bruce,

I also contacted Korg USA a number of times and got specific assurances from them that the fix would be an entire replacement keybed and that the new keybed would be used going forward on all new RH3 Kronos going forward. I was very specific in asking about those issues.

Re: keybed bla bla bla
I test-drove six different K73/88s in six different stores last year. All had that cut off issue. In addition, a friend bought a K73 last summer. His unit worked fine until December when it developed the same keybed problem.Davidb wrote:I can realete to that.Mister088 wrote:..I've gone into various stores to play the weighted Kronos in hopes that i can get my hands on one that feels right, and so for...no go.
