Well, I'm kind of hoping that my Kronos will last 10 years, just like my Yamaha S90 (which is still working fine for a different owner!)

Let's assume I can play 10 gigs per year at 75 eur each, it will only take 5 years to get ROI.

Michel, I can probably do a few more gigs because coverbands are booked more often (in my experience) for parties then other bands playing their own music that nobody may know...
Old gig setup: Yamaha S90, Roland Fantom XR, Hammond XM-1, M-Audio Axiom 61
2011 gig setup: Korg Kronos 88

Once again I used my Kronos in rehearsal and it performed pef=perfectly. My guitar player loves the sounds so much he's practically announcing every song saying, "Featuring the Kronos!".
If music is the food of love, play on and play loud!
Gear: Kronos 73, Wavestation EX, Polysix, King Korg, Monotron and Monotron Duo, Minikorg, Moog Grandmother, my very old MiniKorg, 4 acoustic and 9 electric guitars, 1 Ibanez 5 string bass, a Steel guitar, a bunch of microphones, 2 pairs of studio monitors and other very cool toys, 1 wife and 4 cats and a lava lamp!

hey did you guys use UPS on your kronos??? i mean if you are gigging, and then you got unplugged in the middle of a song, it's a disaster right (2 minutes of booting)??

hey is there no comment from kronos users who have experienced issues with the kronos???
Love my kronos 88 :D
Love my yamaha psr s910 as well

Korg Kronos 88, Yamaha PSR s910, Korg C720, Yamaha DTX 520, Focusrite Scarlett 18i6, a pair of Yamaha HS80 in (soon not to be) an unproperly treated room..

I also play in a coverband, however we are not connected to a booking agency, we play not the hits normally and we are with 7 (maybe soon 8) people.

I hope to see you in Eindhoven at May 25.

1jordyzzz... Yes, it's pretty much a disaster if your synth reboots during a show.

This happened to me just once, and it wasn't the Kronos. My Yamaha S90 needed an ackward amount of time to get ready again.

My Kronos has only crashed once because I tried connecting my Android phone to the USB port. As long as I don't do that, I won't have any trouble :-)

Michel, it's 26th of may, will make short announcement soon!

Ok great ...btw I have tried to connect my android phone and it worked ok (could even save a PCG file and the battery of the android was recharged).

I think I'm going to bring a secound synth along just in case there is a problem but so far I have done several gigs with my Kronos 73 and have not had any problems at all. It has been fantastic.
I firmly believe that the number of people having problems is quite small compared to the total number of gigging Kronos' there are out there. I also might be fine because I'm not using anything connected to it. I also have a power conditioned in line.

A power conditioner possibly helps (although I'm not intending to use one one stage; since the power in northwest Europe is very ok).

Definitely YES.
I have had 2 issues, but thats not Korg`s fault:

1. Time
2. Wife

I have not had any issues with my beloved Kronos. In Norway we have 220V so maybe this helps regarding stability of this machine.
I have a some gear during all my years of music starting with the Poly800mK2, M1, 01Wfd, DSS1, DX7, Ensonique TS 12, Korg R3 etc i have never had so much inspiration in making music. I cant stop being productive :)
Its a small pain learning its functions, but now i know where to go and what to change (except Karma) when making a song/combi/sound.

In the Netherlands we also have 220V.

About your 'issues':
- my wife got a (much cheaper) guitar but she is happy and she knows now that making music is fun.
- about your time: I really blame Korg for having less time ... everytime I sit behind the Kronos, time is going at least twice as fast as I think.

Time:
I actually blame music stores. Everytime I enter a store, 1 to 3 hours of time is lost without even noticing :-)

hey guys i have a question... What's the defect that the old production of kronos had??? well we have heard of the rh3 keybed problem, and then i've heard that the data wheel also came off easily... Is that still happening in the newer production of kronos???

No, this issue was solved long time ago and by now it isn't present. Currently, the remaining issues are:
- The RH3 keybed, which is being (slowly) fixed.
- Noisy fan on some models, which can be fixed by yourself.
- Some issues, apparently related with RAM memory, which will prevent the Kronos from booting up (System startup failed, remove USB stick...)

I have a brand new Kronos 88. The data wheel is fine and keybed is fantastic. I've been playing it every day for a couple weeks and haven't had any problems.

Time? Time doesn't exist when you are playing your Kronos. This is a very well documented fact. I can testify that when I'm playing my Kronos the rest of the world does not even exist until my wife re-enters my studio space-time continuum. Ususally at this point however massive amounts of poop magically appear and land on me due to the fact that time has existed in the rest of world. "NOT MY FAULT!!!!!" I cry! "I was only in here for 2 minutes maximum! Okay, 2 minutes after my Kronos booted up but no way any more than that! What do you mean it's time to get up and go to work?"

1jordyzzz,
I have one of the early models. A 73 key Kronos and I have not experienced any trouble wit mine at all except for me doing stupid things like not properly saving songs and set lists. My Kronos has been perfect sinve I picked it up last year in september.. If you don't have one yet and can afford one, my advice is go buy one now. You won't regret it.
