Yes the interface is not the best but run out to a computer with the
editor it's pretty good. Its amazing how small the file sizes are and
still sound good.
If they come out with the new K3 workstation it will be a force to deal with.
Let the force be with you.

Click "sound libraries & shop", EXs11 legendary strings.... Listen to a demo called EXcalevation (for dynamics)... It's like the whole orchestra plays in front of you :D
For guitar sounds, it's covered on my yamaha PSR s910... Besides, i don't really use them that much..
I hear no horns in that demo. What no horns in a Orchestra.
The Film Score bottom of the page is a little better to show some horns.

Look at the price of Legendary Strings

For a machine that has so much memory and solid state drive you would think they could do better.
Well it's just the strings sorry :P ... Well it's all according to taste..
Why i choose kronos?? Primarily i need:
1. AC pianos
2. AC pianos
3. electric pianos
4. and, AC pianos
YES i do need them so much... and it has to sound DAMN GOOD...
and then it has a feature of my dream:
1. SST
2. SETLIST MODE (truly a dream come true :D)
Why i don't choose Kurz
1. in my ears, the piano doesn't sound very good..
2. 128 megabytes of ram for sampling?? are you kidding?? no more expansion?
3. i'm not spending 3000 dollars with a keyboard that has a monochrome LCD with small resolution..
4. I'm a noob on synthesizer, and most people are having trouble programming kurz (as kevin nolan says)... Even though it's simpler to use an editor, what about editing sounds so sudden on live situations??
5. it has no dedicated button to control our registration memory (in other words, no SETLIST)
6. i'm not a softsynts-and-DAW-user and also not a user-of-a-tons-of-synth-racks kind of guy... if it's a complex gigs which requires many layers and splits, kronos would suit me better... I don't do midi-my-kronos-into-laptops-or-synth-rack kind of thing...

i'm saying again, it's about taste and personal needs... you think kurz good, buy them... i think kronos is good... i'm buying it.. and accept any flaws that comes with it ( voila.. problem's solved)
Love my kronos 88 :D
Love my yamaha psr s910 as well

Thats why the files are so small.
For Piano I would have to go with Nord Stage 2 .

again there are something that kronos is way better than nord stage, and vice versa!
I've heard NS2 demos on youtube, and i do have to say (to be honest), that the piano sounds better (warmer, rich, and it has a cool symphatetic resonance feature)... But if you expect an awesome detail, that's a no go... even though the sample library is 500 megabytes, but the sample IS STILL LOOPED.. kronos sample is HALF MINUTE + LONG AND UNLOOPED, and korg keyboards tends to suit better on any situation than any other keyboard... you can tweak the pianos for example.. Another great thing about nord, is that they gave away their samples for FREE...
why i don't buy nord:
1. nord is stage oriented (as the name suggest, which is good!), but i still prefer kronos' setlist for switching programs (i don't have to press many button to get my splits and layers sounds right as in nord..)
2. there is absolutely no support from clavia in Indonesia.. the market of clavia is segmented (primarily for the european and american market).. what if it breaks down?? hell i'm not shipping it back to sweden..
3. there are more engines in kronos more than nord's (hell maybe i'm not using it all, but as my experience gets better, i may have to use them for different kinds of music)
4. NS2 is 1000+ dollars more than kronos.. but the feature is more in kronos..
5. i'm looking for workstation, but at the same time need a stage instrument.. kronos gives me both (NS2 is a stage instrument, but no sequencers, etc...)
Love my kronos 88 :D
Love my yamaha psr s910 as well
