My live demo with a Kronos

Post by danhewitt »

Hi Everyone,

I just made this up and thought I'd share it here since I read the forums all the time. It's just a demo recording of my last band playing, similar to other videos that I've made to find gigs, but this time all my sounds are from my first contract using just the Kronos. The P80's rock piano is blended in a bit to help the Kronos' piano cut through the band, but in all other cases it's just an additional MIDI controller for the Kronos. My playing is live also, no tracks.

Any suggestions or criticisms are welcome! Just please don't pick on the song selection if it's not your taste... that part isn't up to me and it is the job!

Thanks :D

I liked it a lot. It sounds pretty full. So it's pretty you and drummer , right? It sounds very full and nice for a two man band. Also, when you're playing let's say piano and strings, what do you use for the Bass line?

Edit: looks like there's more musicians.

Great playing. Good live keyboard arrangments. The brass sections were really excellent and cut through the mix. Some of the left hand playing did not cut through the mix as times so you might want to slightly adjust the volume balances on your splits as you are such a good player. Thanks for sharing as you really demonstrated the versatility of the Kronos with quality sounds and personal performance. Congrats! :D

Thank you, sorry I took the lineup for granted. There are two female lead singers, one male lead singer who is also the bass player, a tenor sax / electric wind instrument player, the drummer, a guitarist (on just a few songs) and then myself on keys.

Nice demo.. great sounds, great performance.. love the funky left hand on superstition right off the top, while covering the horn parts with your right hand! That's some good left/right hand independence!! Well done..

My last band was a 70's disco band and at times I was doubling the bass on clavinet, at the same time as playing Electric Piano and tossing in horn shots.. Very challenging..

Again nice performance, the Kronos sounds amazing.. except the CX3 engine on Kiss and Love the One You're with... not quite there... but I'm a B3 player and very critical! I use a separate out into a Ventilator pedal and it makes all the difference.. however, a great performance on your part Dan..

Thanks for sharing!! Craig

Very cool job. I`m very impressed by the horns. Are these Kronos patches, or samples.
