M1 "Universe" patch on microkorg

Post by auxiliaryoctopus »

Anyone tried to mimic the M1 "Universe" patch (00) on their microkorg? If so, do you have the recipe?

You would be really hard pressed to do that. Looking at my M1 and seeing what makes up that sound, you would probably need at least two MicroKORGs to get anything close. If you would like, I can post the specs of that sound and you can see if you can match it, though!

easier to make it on a Korg R3, and even with the R3 it needs two multitimbral patches layered to achieve that sound

Of course, you could just sample it. Sure, it's strange to sample a PCM-based sound, but it's certainly one wway to do it. Or if you can find the original PCM somewhere, that's certainly doable.

I noticed only one important difference in sound module of Pa3x and M1.
Korg Pa3x has only one pitch EG driving all oscilators while M1 has two pitch EGs, seperate one for each osciloator.
