I love my m3-73, but it really has been beaten up pretty good over the years and today I ordered a Kronos 61. 61 keys will definitely not do it for me and I didn't care for the 73 or 88 weighted action, so I'm looking for a lightweight (because I'm old) 88 weighted keyboard controller, that uses as little stage realestate as possible and it would be great if it was usb powered. I've looked around and don't really see anything that is weighted and doesn't weigh around 50lbs. Too much for this old guy. Anybody using a controller for your 61 Kronos and what kind?

if you're a "one keyboard does it all " kinda guy like me, who likes to keep it simple in gigs and take only one keyboard, i would say go for the 88 or 73 .

Buying a controller wont be less work for you for transportation , since you have to take the 61 + the 88-controller and fit them in your car/truck etc..

I'm one of those people who uses a 88 controller (Casio digital piano) and a k61 , and to be honest, i am seriously considering swapping everything for a new Kronos X 88 ...

Already talked to my local distributer about it .

i seriously recommend casio privia... it's not usb powered, yet it's lightweight and the keybed is good... most people i've met using privia said that they are satisfied with it (the sound and action) for the price offered...

for USB powered and aftertouch I would say Akai MPK88 but it does weigh in at 64lbs..

Myself I use my Yamaha MM8 as I couldn't let it go when i got the Kronos as I liked it's action better than any other 88 I had tried, only con is no aftertouch (i don't use AT anyway). It's only 34lbs which I think is about as light as you're going to get with a graded hammer action.

Take a look at Studiologic's midi keyboards. They come as graded hammer action at low weight (around 6-10 kg) but are not USB powered.

If you want a really good one and money is not an option (well...) then go for a Roland with PHA-III keyboard (there's a few to pick from). That keyboard is the best in the industry. My 2 cents. (I have one of those myself in my Roland RG-1F mini grand piano).

i own one and it is "PERFECT" for what it is

the PRIVIA is what HE uses to WARM UP before going on stage

THAT is enough for ME to think it's worth owning

The M-audio sono pro-keys 88 has a light action, and is itself really light in weight. Plus, if you've got it away from the K, has some own onboard voices. It's not usb powered, but by a "brick"; this cuts down on the keyboard weight. Also, it's ridiculously cheap.
