Grats, PMT Music (why they chose PMT I don't know, googling that is not fun) just phoned me to say Korg UK haven't got the parts to do the update until next week.

Maybe they have the parts for yours, just letting you know what PMT just told me Korg said to them.

I presume and hope Korg check for the keybed problems while they're at it.

Am getting more excited by the hour, just my extreme to sell and my wife will like me again too :)

I sent Korg UK the following Email yesterday
Hi, I ordered a new Kronos 88 from PMT Norwich on Saturday and also paid them the £99 to have it upgraded before I receive it.

They have contacted me today to say that they've spoken to yourselves and you wont have the upgrade parts in until next week. That's no problem at all.

What I wondered is that while your upgrading it, you would check the keybed to make sure it has the newer style contacts on it and if it doesn't please change them while you are upgrading the RAM and SSD please (don't know how long PMT has had it in stock).

I play a lot of piano and the note problem on early kronos's described in numerous threads on korgforums.com would drive me nuts. And it's silly for me to then have to ship it back to you after I've just received it.

I understand they are shipping it to you, you are doing the upgrade, then shipping it back to PMT Norwich (if that helps)

Many many many thanks, cant wait to get my hands on it, having sleepless nights

best
PMT did say they might order another one straight from Korg as they're getting the upgrade done rather than send one to them. (which means Korg must still have stock left of the original Kronos)

Judging by Korgs response I received today, either they are aware of what stock PMT has, or they are sending me out a recent one as they have replied with
Many thanks for the email.

Just to confirm that all of our new stock of Korg Kronos's come with the new version of the key contacts fitted as standard so you won't have any worries there.

With best regards,

The amount of Youtube kronos demos etc I've watched in the past 24 hrs is reaching silly proportions :)

Cant wait

yes you can wait, but the excitement does hurt.

when I ordered mine it took almost 8 days to get, man I was becoming a nut, tracking the order, wondering why it spent a day in Kansas City, ready to call UPS and ask what hell was going on. I live in California.

it's great to see that you are so happy :)

I think it will be worth the wait, even after a year of heavy use the kronos is still my number one workstation in the studio. The possibilities seems to be endless :D

you guys think the Kronos ALONE is more deadly than an m3 AND a Triton Extreme combined?

just wondering...

Streaming samples from an internal SSD, not to mention multiple engines. The only thing more power than the Kronos is two Kronos.

but power or deadliness aside, it is nice to have a complement keyboards to go with it, just to add to the flavor, my killer pair is the Kronos with a JP80 or Motif combo, depending on the performance situational needs..

I also do. I figure you have so many more sounds and synth engines at your fingertips.

I also have Komplete Ultimate (Absynth, Massive, FM8, reaktor, Kontact etc), Razor, Alicia Keys, Steinbergs Padshop pro and Retrologue.

I do love my Extreme but I only have room for one keyboard plus I need to get about half the money the Kronos is costing so couldn't keep it even if I wanted to.

I think with all that, I'll be happy.

In reality, an 88 note midi controller and my Native Instruments package could keep me busy for years, but I'd still be dreaming of owning a Kronos and now my dreams have come true :)

Just had a phone call from PMT Music.

They have my Kronos, complete with upgrade and free hard case. It was a brand new one sent from korg rather than an in stock one they sent to korg, so I know the keyboard is the updated version :)

Now all I need to do is get my wife to change some of her clients to a different day so I can borrow the car and go and get it.

Could be in for a really good evening (or if my wife cant move her clients, a really good tomorrow evening)

best

Joe

Yes, she's moving people, in a couple of hours, I'll be a proud owner :)

Now to pack up my Triton to make room.
