can't change parameters at combi "Edit - Zone/CTRL"

Post by ralhop »

I have the strange problem That when I want to edit a Combination to change any parameter on the Edit - zone/control page 'I can not change anything. not with the rotary or fader or numberpad or up down butons.

I can select something but when I change the number with the numeric pad , after enter it goos back to the old position.

I don't know whats wrong the nobs work on other pages.

best regards Ralph

Possibly your damper pedal input has a bad solder contact. Happened to me too. They board thinks the damper is plugged in and pressed, and won't allow you to change any parameters relating to midi channel, timbre pitch etc.
Plugging in a damper pedal may be a temp fix for you.

Half way you are Right , If I plug in a Damper pedal it solves my problem .
only I soldered all the contact last month new because I was reading the post on that fact. can it be that the damper insert itself can be broken.

I'm not using the damper pedal because my extreme is my second keyboard and it is controlled by midi of my master keyboard to control the damper function.

if I put the damper function on Korg modus will it solve it for now??

That's what I'm saying, that the damper input is broken. It could be the socket itself, but dead/broken solder joints are a common failing of the Extreme. As I said, I had it myself. A helpful thing, after resoldering, is to only use angled plugs to avoid straining the input.

I don't think it helps to switch damper mode, at least for me it never did. When it happened I just plugged in a damper until I got around to permanently fixing it.
