@bowman i was surprised to find certain sounds in the KO2 bank that are not in the pro+, or little nuances where 2 of the same korg sounds arent identical, never used KO1 but i would be curious if each models has certain sounds omitted, granted the pro+ has 250, but the KO2 has 150 w/o vocoder
so its more like pro+ 235? sounds w/ gate/arp and KO2 150 sounds w/ 50 arp patterns

check to make sure your input source is set to mic, and the input level is up, and the mic knob on the bottom is up as well...then select a vocoder program and while holding the pad talk into the mic...some programs dont let any sound through unless you press the pad...all of those steps seem simple but sometimes i forget to make sure all the levels are set even after years of using it

yea i figured all that out, but still nada, no worries, input switch to mic check, microkorg mic in check, mic trim up, input volume up a 1/3, tap 8 for vocoder bank, then hit pad and speak to generate the vocoder, check.. either way i feel it wants the real mic, same as the micro but whatever is possible with limited resources. i wish the manual declared what kind of mic is compatible, im thinking i should be looking through just the pro manual and not my pro+ manual but i dont feel its soo big i need to post a new post. cheers

oh forgot to mention while making the arp, it wont make 16th if under 102.? bpm i think, i steady around 95 usually so i fall just under, that was a surprise but the KO2 wouldnt allow above 8 so at least im already accustomed to it, im sure ill test out over the 102.? bpm soon, 16th are very tempting but for the moment im still transitioning to the new bank sounds

Nice to see this thread got peaceful.

Anyhow, first off great video Bowmoney...I liked you showed off your arp skills.

Here is a link to something I started with a while back when I first got my KPRO. If you have a KP3 you can do the same. The link is to my thread on how to make and save custom arp settings for the KOPRO using the KP3:

@ smk
thanks for the help, but the real problem lies in them omitting the patterns which are implemented on other kaossilator products, also liked the new post but seeing as im not going to get a kp3 just to do something i feel should have already been implemented in the pro+, definately curious as to how the kp3 uses such work arounds, but i still feel that a work around is more of a need for more gear, rather then why omit 50 patterns, saving the patterns is more of what it is too, creating them without being able to save them, well unless i have another piece of gear, wish the pro or pro+ never went down this have one but not the other route, i think both couldve been used to our advantage, something nice also wouldve been to have creatable/savable arp patterns since the 50 they used to provide have been scrapped, microkorg has the option to make/save its own arp patterns, granted only in the 8 tabs but they are savable. anyway thanks and im checking the new post, though i highly doubt a kp3 is in my future.... cheers

ygtbfkm-

Yeah that's something you have to take up with product development at Korg Japan...brush up on your Japanese, that might help.

Impossible, right?

You know, I could have jumped on the "Korg should have done this" band wagon. I did post suggestions on a hopeful thread regarding what the next update firmware should include. But really, I chose to be happy with what I have and make the best of it. KPro+ comes out and of course I was hoping for a box that took all of our suggestions and come to find out...It doesn't! Money saved, I don't feel compelled to by a new box. I'm happy with that. That money will go elsewhere.

I see the KPro as a synth that was designed exclusively to work with the KP3 and it does...they work so well together. The KP3 adds to your KPro sounds by making them sound a bit more unique. Using the KP3's midi functions to access sub-features on the KPro only makes sense.

It does take a little gear management on the users part to pull off what I have been able to do. See, I made the KPro my main instrument. My whole rig is setup to support that. So, for me, it is easy to use the "work around" I have employed. If the KPro plays a different role in your set up then what I have suggested may add a little more stress to what you already have in a live setting.

I don't think what I have said is really going to help anyone here unless there is an obvious motivation or incentive to really look at music gear differently, like with this KPro and really pull out as much musical potential as possible. Out side of a laptop, there really is no "perfect" all in one box for your musical needs.

Thank you for understanding,

Peace,

Bowmoney I have to tell you this is really my favorite youtube Kaossilator Pro Song / piece. The melody and beat really sticks in my head long after I hear it. The beats you created with the electribe is absolutely stellar.

I have listen to your other stuff but this one is my favorite.
