Interesting, maybe a good 88 key combination for an X61 Kronos. I don't know anything about Kurz but it doesn't seem like any kind of completion for Kronos.

Just skimmed through the manual. There doesn't seem to be much editing you can do, VAST is not even mentioned!

Why do Kurzweil keyboards always look like they've been made in the 1990's? Belies their ability, they sell themselves short.

Looks like a decent bottom for a KingKorg, since it has the KB3 mode with interface. I see a very stage-friendly uncluttered layout and they are making an effort to modernize their soundset. The new german piano demos sound more than adequate. Since most music is recorded on DAWs anyway, I think it is probably a good bet to focus on streamlined live keyboards like this.

No VAST? ... It just went from interesting to less interesting.

it has the VAST engine with the VA oscillators, just not that much may be editable.

Kurzweil are old and tired, very tired.
We don't live in the 90's any more.

It's just a stage piano, not a synth. I myself like Kurzweils' look :P

Cause it IS the SAME recycled stuff from the 90's! Discounting a couple new puny "ROMs" that are different of course. It's really a shame, be nice if they became competitive again.

It's a very good stage piano, VAST is used but it's not fully editable (because, you know, true cats don't need all that editing :P). It will definitely find its place on the market - for example for those who don't really like Nord's offerings or find them too expensive, and with not good enough keybed (TP-100 in Artis, which is excellent), or who don't want to wait 2+ minutes for their keyboard to even power on!

I actually like how it looks - it's very sturdy. Which is something I can't say about Kronos, which feels like a toy under my fingers.

And I'd disagree with Sharp, Kurzweil has quite a number of younger people on board now. And that will show through in due time.

Where's the innovation?
Looks like they're just trading on their past glories now. Shame really. I really liked my K2500S way back when.
