I use an M Audio expression pedal. It works for me.
If music is the food of love, play on and play loud!
Gear: Kronos 73, Wavestation EX, Polysix, King Korg, Monotron and Monotron Duo, Minikorg, Moog Grandmother, my very old MiniKorg, 4 acoustic and 9 electric guitars, 1 Ibanez 5 string bass, a Steel guitar, a bunch of microphones, 2 pairs of studio monitors and other very cool toys, 1 wife and 4 cats and a lava lamp!

FYI, ashby makes an adapter:

Designed to use the FC7 pedal with Roland products. Since it's just reversing "polarity" I would assume it would also work to make Roland pedals compatible with Korg. I'm sure if you ask them, they'll tell you.

Maybe I'm just more utilitarian than you, but it seems odd to choose a pedal that "looks cool" that's going to be on the floor, often covered by your foot, that the audience will likely never see, and have to modify it to work, over a pedal that has so many positive references and will work out of the box.keez wrote:I thought I'd decided to get a Yamaha FC7, but I'm really liking the look of the Roland/Boss FV500....
Hi keez.keez wrote:So if I bought a FV500H and changed the polarity of the 1/4" jack, it will definitely work with the Kronos?
Just need this confirming before I go ahead and purchase.
So it's the HIGH impedance I need, not the Low version?
Swap the polarity of the plug and I'm good to go?
Now that you seem to be happy to spend twice as much as you originally said you wanted to spend, why buy that boss pedal which also requires you to make up a cable with compatible wiring?
Why not simply get the official KORG one for a little less money and avoid the hassle of rewiring or risking any possible compatability issues.

I know it seems like a strange and awkward choice, but it just ticks most of the boxes. The reviews I've read say it's incredibly smooth. It's also made from solid metal, so is very robust and heavy. It has a zero adjust (like the Korg pedal) and it also has a tension adjust which is great.
If all I have to do is change the polarity, then that's a really simple 5min job.
The only thing that worries me is conformation that it will work by just swapping a few wires over.

That's as good a reason as any.
If you can, any chance you can take a photo or two of the process when your doing it. I'm sure it would make interesting viewing for everyone who has their eye on that pedal now, or one at some point in the future.

I'm sure you will be fine. This sort of thing goes on all the time. The only thing that worries me is conformation that it will work by just swapping a few wires over.

Far as I know, KORG use a 50K pot.keez wrote:After a little research, it would seam that both the high & low impedance versions have a separate "Expression" output that is set at 0 - 8.5k ohms.
Is this the correct value for the Kronos?
