If you use the line out (sometimes DI out) from the amp head/preamp or mic the cab with 57 or something I don't see why not. Don't record from the amp output, obviously.

Hate to barge in here, and BTW I am a keyboard newb. So can I plug my guitar directly into my Kronos and record it? And if so, can I route my guitar through a guitar effects (stomp) box first?
KRONOS X61, Presonus Eris E8's, Fender Precision, Ampeg, Boss ME-50B: I'm either here, there or somewhere else...always...

You could do both but you'll get a better sound using a DI box or dedicated preamp.

One weakness of the Kronos, IMHO, is the amp/speaker sims. What is your goal? Are you wanting to record a guitar track in a song? If so, I would use the amp of your choice and mic it into the Kronos (or run direct of you're using an amp sim or pedal). From there, the additional effects in the Kronos are good (reverb, delay, chorus). Another alternative is to plug the guitar in and record the direct signal, then route that our an Aux out to an amp/amp sim, and back into an input. In that way, you could apply pre-amp effects like Wah, compression, EQ, etc, as well as post-amp effects, and make tweaks to the amp after you've recorded. In the recording world, this is known as "re-amping".
