Files present after multisample save etc

Post by jetrocker »

So I loaded and then saved a wav file into my Kronos last night, then saved it as a multisample to use in a program. I used "save all" (I believe) when I saved it to a multisample and called it (for example here) "FILENAME". I then went into the SSD drive to look for the KSC file to autoload, but noticed that there was now a folder and TWO .ksc files listed that had the word "FILENAME" in the title. One of the .ksc files was my filename with a 1 behind it ...something like "FILENAME1.ksc". The second one was something like "FILENAME1_userbank.ksc. I chose the one that had "userbank" in it to autoload and it works fine..but I'm wondering if I need to keep the other one? Why is there two created?

Second question - once you save a multisample, can you rename it? Also if it's saved in stereo, can you change it to mono and visa versa?

Thanks for the help. I'm new at the sampling thing...

you did good to use the FILENAME1_userbank.ksc as autoloaded, the _userbanks are the ones that stream from the SSD, the ones without it like the FILENAME1.ksc are the ones that are loaded entirely in the memory and don't stream.

So do I need to keep the FILENAME1.ksc files? Also, do you know anything about renaming these files and whether or not sample can be changed from stereo to mono?

Thx
