Moderators: Sharp, X-Trade, Pepperpotty, karmathanever
I left it at the defaull value (256 samples if I remember right, don't rememeber the overall ms time value) and got by fine so far.
Kronos 73 - Moog Voyager RME - Moog LP TE - Behringer Model D - Prophet 6 - Roland Jupiter Xm - Rhodes Stage 73 Mk I - Elektron Analog Rytm MkII - Roland TR-6s - Cubase 12 Pro + Groove Agent 5
It's a wonder why KORG don't make Android Apps considering Android devices outsell Apple 7 to 1.

Android has problems with audio latency compared to iOS. Lollipop is supposed to fix that, but then again it could still work differently on different Android devices, since the hardware is not identical in each and every Android device. It's no wonder, really. Android would definitely result in much more support issues than iOS exactly because of this. It's not the point what outsells what, it's about what performs better overall.
Good to know. If the latency was the reason all along, I look forward to seeing what happens with Lollipop released.Android has problems with audio latency compared to iOS. Lollipop is supposed to fix that
Such is life though, and rightly so. Every since the first computer program was sold we have always run software on all manner of different systems. Buying technology should be exciting, and require a learning curve.but then again it could still work differently on different Android devices, since the hardware is not identical in each and every Android device. It's no wonder, really
Apple seem to have turned the process of buying a smartphone or tablet into something boring as hell. If you had one before from them, the new one will be much the same as the last.
Such is life, there's no easy way to make money. Every Android programmer has to support their users who use all manner of different systems. Considering apple now only have an 10% share of the market and Android is over 80%, it seems to be a positive thing and not a reason to avoid developing apps for android at all.Android would definitely result in much more support issues than iOS exactly because of this.

Instead of looking at market share, it might be more telling to note which platform has an embarrassment of riches, as far as music apps/instruments/DAWs. There is no comparison. Do a google search for Android music apps and you get a bunch of music players and downloaders. It's laughable.
Let's get real here.

Android for music production? Not for anyone who wants to get the most bang for the buck. Ios and Apple have the market for now hands down.
To many problems with android sound but it could be getting better, maybe in a couple of years it could be worth it but nothing to make anyone not choose apple unless they are wealthy and do not mind the lack of quality apps in comparison.

Associating Apple and value for money is hilarious. Either way I think my point seems to be getting lost. Android's problem is that there's simply no advanced music apps being written for it so I asked the question, why doesn't KORG do something considering how many times bigger the Android market is to iOS.Android for music production? After I did a little research on this, what EvilDragon said about Latency was spot on. Up until now a serious audio app would have probably made little sense, but with Lollipop, that's not the case any more.
Weather or not developers see that as an opportunity is something time will tell. I suspect they will because of the size of the Android market compared to the iOS market.
Have to point out, that's limited to music apps for the iOS market only.Ios and Apple have the market for now hands down.
I suspect your right there considering Lollipop is the first OS to address the Latency. 2 years from now could be quite a different story though.maybe in a couple of years it could be worth it but nothing to make anyone not choose apple unless they are wealthy and do not mind the lack of quality apps in comparison.
Good for us all though. Competition and choice is awesome.

"Competion" from Google, the by far biggest and one of the most dirty of the data sharks on earth, is the very last thing I ever want. Everything coming come Google is NOT competition, but massive misuse of monopolistic internet power.
Apple isn't much better, but at least they are not as big for all kinds of data misuse, as Google is today.
I couldn't care less for Android, and wish at least the music app business to stay in Apple's hands. We're having much more than enough from Google already!

Yeah, true, but the competition I'm referring to is a choice of Apps on different platforms. Those apps come from independent developers, not Google or Apple.
If we were to directly compare Google themselves directly to Apple, they are both as bad as each other. Neither of them can be trusted at all. They both constantly lie and cheat.
It's a sad state of affairs though to have to choose one liar and cheat over another. For another thread though probably.
