Issues with Editing sample settings for each bank.

Good day,

My drummer recently purchased a used kP3. It has a feature that i cannot seem to able on both mine. When adjusting the volume of each sample, he his able to mix any of the 4 samples, while the other 3 are still playing. I can only edit on my KP3s and be able to listen to one sample at a time, while the other 3 are mute while doing so.

Is it a matter of system upgrade?

It most certainly is and for just that reason. You do also get a new looping mode (for looper program's).It looks more effective(-pretty) than it actually sounds,I only notice a slight difference.
Edit -actually you do get some extra,lovely playback modes and trigger options for your sample banks.
