SetList Maker and Kronos

Post by damchi123 »

I have a Kronos, Samsung Tab S tablet, midi and Usb cables to connect, and SetList Maker app installed on my tablet (Android)...

But I don't have hours and hours to figure it out, how to connect the tablet with app to my Kronos. I do not understand all the MIDI madness :-)

I would like to control song patches-playing from Set List mode (from SetList Maker to Kronos) and vice-versa.

Does anyone have the time to walk me through the setup on Kronos and SetList Maker, please.

THANK YOU!

Dober večer Damijan. Kako si? I love Slovenia. I've been there many times as I used to go out with a Slovenian girl - Ptuj, Maribor, Portoroz, and of course Ljublijana & Bled. Fantastic country and fantastic pivo too - Lasko!!

I use Set list maker to select the patches on my Roland RD700 when I play a show. For that, you need the MSB & LSB bank numbers, plus the patch number 0-127. I'm sure it'll be the same for the Kronos - you should find these in the Kronos manuals, in the MIDI implementation I would think.
My next plan is to use Set List Maker to run both the RD and the Kronos live at the same time. I'll let you know how that goes!

Just to add a bit more detail. I run Setlistmaker on my iPad, but I'm assuming it's a similar setup for the Samsung, and that you already have a list of songs.

You'll need to do the following for each song:

1) Create a MIDI preset with the name of the patch or song - for this you'll need to specify MSB, LSB and Patch Number. There also setting for ports and channel numbers, but so far I have not needed to bother with these.
2) Go back into the song and select 'add MIDI preset'. You should then see the MIDI preset you just created. Select this preset to assign it to the song.

Repeat this procedure until all your apps have the MIDI symbol next to them. When you select songs from your shows, your Kronos should automatically select the patches.

More info is here: http://www.arlomedia.com/apps/setlistma ... _MIDI.html

Hope this helps

I haven't had much luck getting midi to work on my Android but it works fine on my iPad. Arlo seems aware of this but blames Android and doesn't know if/when he can fix it. The actual setup is not tough. If you have the sync module I could even share a database with you with some examples. But first you have to get the midi connection to work reliably.
