Kronos
Hi!
I have purchased the "New KRONOS Sound Pack" for my Kronos=X::88
//////////////////////////////////////
KRS-07 Sound Pack 3.0
EXS-17 SGX-2 Berlin D Piano
EXS-18 EXs Collections
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Now, I was a little bit disappointed, after I found out, that he has only a few combinations. Most of the sounds are single sounds and even they are named after famous songs or bands, they only contain static drum track and, well, the single sound. For 250 Dollar I was expecting combinations, with karma patterns, and accompaniment, to play the full song of the regarding band accordingly.
Because this is what I am looking for. Exquisite combinations, not too overloaded, with real Life-Band-Accompaniment. I only found one (maybe two) which are matching my expectations.
101 K-Lab: Funked-up Guitars Organ E.Organ
116 Funk The Brass Brass/Reed Brass (But I am not so much a brass fan)
Those are with a real band playing: with different guitar and organ licks in the background, a bass track and a complete funky drummer with different karma patterns to change.
Where can I find more of those combinations. I am looking for complete Karma-Sets with a lot of variations, sound like a band, in the field of rock and funk, e-piano, organs, synths and guitars as lead instruments. Musical playable and really good sounding. Not too overloaded, well composed, from real world class musicians?
I think for 250 Dollar I can expect more!

I have a first edition K73 and I have never bought any sounds except for Dan Stesco's Ultimate Lead Sounds. The reason is that I just think in general they sound packages cost too much and if I ever want to port them over to another Kronos, I can't.
If music is the food of love, play on and play loud!
Gear: Kronos 73, Wavestation EX, Polysix, King Korg, Monotron and Monotron Duo, Minikorg, Moog Grandmother, my very old MiniKorg, 4 acoustic and 9 electric guitars, 1 Ibanez 5 string bass, a Steel guitar, a bunch of microphones, 2 pairs of studio monitors and other very cool toys, 1 wife and 4 cats and a lava lamp!

Hi GrandMasterKorg
I think this poll is impossible to vote for.
Regarding "New KRONOS Sound Pack" - I tend to agree but I have some others which are fantastic value
So is your poll asking "generally" or specifically about "New KRONOS Sound Pack"?
Cheers
Pete

Re: Kronos
K-Lab stands for "Karma-Lab". We wrote that one and included it in Korg's 3.0 voicing as somewhat of a demo.GrandMasterKorg wrote:101 K-Lab: Funked-up Guitars

I would humbly submit, that you can find more of these from Karma-Lab. We have 3 sets of 32 combis each that are pretty much what you describe - although they cover a wide variety of styles, not just funk and rock. I invented the KARMA function, licensed it to Korg, and our soundsets are nothing but fully KARMA-fied combis. And to be fair, people either love that kind of stuff or they don't. Nothing wrong with that.Where can I find more of those combinations. I am looking for complete Karma-Sets with a lot of variations, sound like a band, in the field of rock and funk, e-piano, organs, synths and guitars as lead instruments. I've never bought any expansion Exi, so I did not vote, but for the factory sounds I miss Triton's trance/techno grooves. There're quite a few in Kronos.

I have bought a few, but really don't have enough space to accommodate the programs - need more banks.

Re: Kronos
That's right. The Combis labeled with "K-Lab" are mostly the best sounding and best playable in the whole package. Also the first one, calledStephenKay wrote:K-Lab stands for "Karma-Lab". is really cool. I think I would like to buy more of them. Thanks for the Suggestion.
How can I make the bass sound in the left hand side, going over more than one octave? Because, after one octave it repeats.

I have to say sorry for beeing so imprecise. Actually I was mostly asking/talking about the "New Kronos Sound Pack", except the K-Lab Combinations.karmathanever wrote:Hi GrandMasterKorg

Re: Kronos
Are you referring to the Module that is playing the bass sound in "Katja's House?" And the fact that it "wraps around" at C3?GrandMasterKorg wrote:How can I make the bass sound in the left hand side, going over more than one octave? Because, after one octave it repeats.
This can be changed by going into the KARMA > Control page (7.3), and changing the "Force Range" setting for Module B (the Bass). Note that with the current setting, there is a "Force Range Wrap" setting of "B" which is causing it wrap around at B/C. If you set this to "Off", and then go to the KARMA > GE page (0.6) and turn on Master Layer Switch 6 "Octave ", you will be able to have the bass line keep climbing in pitch as you pass C3. Is that what you meant?

Re: Kronos
Hallo dear friend Stephen, this is exactly what I've been looking for. Now I can play around with some more features. Thank you for pointing me to the right menu page. It's always good to talk directly to the developers. Great forum here!StephenKay wrote: Are you referring to the Module that is playing the bass sound in "Katja's House?"
