get rid of automation

Post by waltmo4 »

I was manually punching in tracks: making the mute go on and off while the track is playing. Is there a way to stop it from automating if that is indeed the right terminology.

You're almost there. In SEQ mode:
  • Select "Track Edit" tab.
Select the appropriate MIDI track you would like to edit.
From drop-down menu on upper left, select "MIDI Event Edit."
Since you are only looking for automation events, de-select "Note" to exclude all note events. Makes it a lot easier.
    Select OK.
From there you can individually delete/modify/add events in that track.
If you have created multiple events, an easier way to delete or create MIDI automation is:
  • Select "Track Edit" tab.
Select the appropriate MIDI track you would like to edit.
From drop-down menu on upper left, select "Create Control Data" or "Erase Control Data", the latter being applicable to what you're after.
From there you can bulk erase control changes, e.g. whatever the MUTE cc is.
Hope this helps.
