get rid of automation
I was manually punching in tracks: making the mute go on and off while the track is playing. Is there a way to stop it from automating if that is indeed the right terminology.

You're almost there. In SEQ mode:waltmo4 wrote:Thanks for your help. In track edit mode right? I did that and I was either in the wrong place, or am too much of a novice to understand what I am looking a..... I just bought my Kronos..
- Select "Track Edit" tab.
Select the appropriate MIDI track you would like to edit.
From drop-down menu on upper left, select "MIDI Event Edit."
Since you are only looking for automation events, de-select "Note" to exclude all note events. Makes it a lot easier.
Select OK.
From there you can individually delete/modify/add events in that track.
- Select "Track Edit" tab.
Select the appropriate MIDI track you would like to edit.
From drop-down menu on upper left, select "Create Control Data" or "Erase Control Data", the latter being applicable to what you're after.
From there you can bulk erase control changes, e.g. whatever the MUTE cc is.
