Great performance it is indeed & the Genos sounds awesome, no doubt about it!
At 4:17: this sounds a bit like one of the Korg Unplugged styles...
Check this out, to hear the PA4X in some pieces of great live performances:

Of course, Luke Edwards could make any keyboard sound amazing, he is so talented.

Such a huge shame - Yamaha just didn't come up with any kind of comparative keyboard.
I am seriously disappointed now.....

After Montage expectations where high for Genos but considering the very high price they are charging then we are only seeing small evolutionary changes and this make the PA4X in comparisons look like extremely good value for the money and that includes what is probably the best keybed out there before a weighted action and to think Yamaha forgot to put balanced outputs on Genos which is perplexing and PAC is now just a distant dream...so a very nice keyboard for many im sure...But not worth that very high Premium price they are asking in my Humble opinion ...i may change my mind after the official event which I will attend and perhaps some down time with Genos at a dealers next time I am passing..but for now the combination of keyboards I have inculding the PA4X as my master keyboard then Genos would seem to Not be the Dynamite that would move me away from the PA4Xkarmathanever wrote:Such a huge shame - Yamaha just didn't come up with any kind of comparative keyboard.

We get the real thing locally in a couple of weeks so I am looking forward to actually getting to play it.
Even though some new owners are already threatening to sell up I still reserve my final views until actually playing and hearing it.
So far it really is just a Tyros 6 from all that I read, see and hear.
You are absolutely correct, for some it will be a very nice keyboard

Not just the data list, also the reference manual is online
Seems all the new things on the Genos are done in the typical Yamaha way, with a huge amount of restrictions..
-There is only a small amount of things that can be assigned to the assignable buttons, knobs, ans sliders..
-The screen, while huge is capacitive, taking away much of the beauty.
-The knobs are not encoders but normal pots
-There is no place to store user arpeggio's. You can not even save an arp you edited in a performance memory
But there is one thing really sensational, and that is the dsp structure, while at first it looks like there is one single insert effect/ track, its much more flexible, you can assign up to 19 DSP's to a single keyboard voice.. which is huge.. Sadly you can not assign any of the DSP parameters to the sliders and knobs for real time edditing.
But in the end, i think this single one DSP feature is what will make the Yamaha a beast on stage, also wanted by many keyboard players in bands.

The link doesn't seem to lead to anywhere I can see the data list or reference manual...

I was at the first Genos demo in the Netherlands yesterday
You can find my little impression here..

Conclusion, the Genos sounds quite a lot better then the tyros 5
It seems Yamaha was able to catch the essence of the different music styles
And all give them a different stage to shine..
The arranger part of the Genos convinced me..
Yet the advanced workstation part, is non excistant

I saw the live youtube feed and indeed the arranger part did convince but nothing showed as proof to why it's called a workstation.Bachus wrote:I was at the first Genos demo in the Netherlands yesterday
