I just happened to see a kronos MK1 61 at the near by GC. And keybed seem to be not so good like my MK2 61. It felt more light weight and more plasticky.
Thanks

Friends, where can I buy the additional SSD and ram if I go for the upgrade? And is there a limit on the SSD/ram size/capacity?
Thanks

Any used keyboard at GC would be suspect - keybeds are notoriously abused by passing customers, history is unknown, how long has it been sitting there, etc., etc...I think that the K1-61 and K2-61 use the same keybed, and my K1-61 (and my M3-73, same keybed) feel about the same as when they were new...I'd look for a well-cared for Kronos1-61 from a private party, although GC may be offering a better price on a beat-up one...

I agree. Have seen several damaged boards at local GC's.

That K original is likely a trade in at GC. You would have to be fairly expert to identify various potential issues.

I like the GC online in particular. For new stuff.

The keybed on all the 61-key Kronos have the same part number and if I’m not mistaken it’s the same as the M3 - there were only problems with the early weighted keybeds, the 73 & 76.

Personally I would buy the cheapest you can find that’s in near-mint condition and if it turns out to be the original and you want to upgrade then you have the option to.

I have the service manual which covers both if you need it.

Anyone else who needs it just send me a pm and I’ll mail it. Sadly I cannot send any other service manuals for the Kronos but the other is more than ten years old now and no longer requires purchasing. You can even browse it online and not bother with having a copy.
