Just a question. I'm recording audio with my sequencer and have exhausted all 16 tracks.
I have some stereo channels "paired". I unpaired one channel and recorded audio onto the newly freed track.
Will that make a difference in my sound not using "Stereo Pair"?
Is Stereo Pair really the same as "doubling" record audio into L & R tracks or is it the same as recording 1 single channel just without being able to pan L & R?
Might seem like a dumb question. Before this I had a digital mixer I recorded my audio onto. To record stereo you had to use 2 channels and each channel was a recording so it was like doubling the sound to make it "stereo"... is it like that on the Kronos?
Thanks.

Yes, it is like that on the Kronos, i.e. it has room for up to 8 stereo pairs or 16 mono tracks, with the stereo tracks panned hard left and hard right respectively, for full L and R stereo effect, or using other "blends" to vary the apparent placement in the stereo field. For mono tracks, the pan control places the sound where needed, of course. One solution would be to perform a mixdown of several stereo tracks into one two track pair, allowing the other tracks to be reused.

Also it is why it has been time for me to link Kronos to a DAW :
plenty Kronos at the same time !
Without forever the limit of only 8 Stereo tracks.
No need to buy another Kronos...

Oh wow, yeah I guess I'm going to have to record my sound into the sampler and then use it as a midi track to get the stereo channel back. I was using the channel to record a mono bass kick so it was all good. For drums I've learned it's best to record them into midi. I usually sample my drums into the Kronos and then make them a program so I can play them with midi.
This was one sound I wanted to add and I don't know how to add a new sound to a pre existing Sample Program you've made. I didn't want to make a whole new kit and waste a program for just 1 sound. That's really one part about the Kronos I dislike is that it doesn't make using the sampler or making kits with it easy. I usually end up missing a step and botching the whole process.
How do you link Kronos to a DAW? Is it possible to track out all your tracks to individual channels in Live or Pro tools?
