Lady Gaga Just Dance/Poker Face sound

Post by lunaluna »

Hi everyone ,

My Cover Band is going to be covering this two songs by Lady Gaga and I pretty much have all the sounds except for one that's used a lot on both songs it's hard to describe it but you can clearly hear it on this link on 0:24 of the song Just Dance .

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Abk1jA ... freload=10

it sounds to me like a single Ab key hit on like what sounds like a Sitar sound
but just can't figure out.

any ideas anyone or if someone has that sound and will share it i'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

Sounds a little 'reedy' to me like an oboe.

I've covered this song before and have made a combi. The sound you are looking for is in the KRS-056 Millenium Pop sound library from Karo. It's a dead on match.

It is called KARO Y2K2 Modular VJS/FC and is installed in U-G020. I use this sound for the lead intro sound and then KARO Y2K2 GuguBas JVS/FC for the Bass/Synth Bass Line. I combine this with the I-E037 Leader of Trance and I-E052 Power Synth sounds to round out the Combi.

Good Luck with the song!

Hi Kbrkr ,
Thanks for the reply .I actually have that bank and that sound you mention is the intro sound which I have but the sound I'm looking for it's like what (Thoraldus) said it's like a reed Oboe-ish type of sound kinda sounds like a horn /reed hit of some sort. You hear it when the singing starts and on every fourth measure after that till the Chorus starts .

Thanks.

It sounds like a reed.
I don't know what sort of instrument it is but it sounds like an Arabian flute which they use with those cobra snakes coming out of the basket if you know what I mean. Don't know how else to say😳
And then just a "hit" with a long reverb on it or a long release.

On the french kronos-dedicated website, a member has made a "Poker Face" cover: you will find a MIDI file, dedicated set of sounds et a MP3 preview here:

It's free!
