No more updates?
Korg kronos is a great keyboard but some absence makes me dissatisfied.
No midi controls, time laps is seq mode, no 64bit windows program ..
Shame on korg! It's been over a year since the last update.
Look at the Yamaha montage!

While they are different, I think Yamaha MODX is putting pressure on Korg to get their game on.

Oh I don't know....It's in the way you look at at.
I'm enjoying updates all the time in the form of new libraries

Admittedly I have to pay for them, but it certainly makes me feel like my Kronos is very "current" and up to date.
I think the Kronos can be as good as the sounds which it's loaded with!

Sorry no time laps in seq mode.. is the edit unavailable in this forum?

You mean "different," as in having an editable sequencer over the Montage's scratch pad sequencer? That does seem to be an odd comparison. A Kronos update would be nice, though.exsequor699 wrote:What are we supposed to look at in the Montage? If you want a Montage, go ahead. Kronos is a different monster.
I do agree that the MODX is an incredible value. I might get one, in the future.

The part of Drama’s post: “Look at the Yamaha Montage”, was the reason of my comment and precisely, its the constant comparasion between instruments that are different what I find pointless. Different approaches, sound, character, etc. And Yeah, any update for the Kronos is welcome.Mike Conway wrote:You mean "different," as in having an editable sequencer over the Montage's scratch pad sequencer? Probably not a lot, however, I came from Yamaha FM, so I would be interested in playing with that engine. I also like the character of the MODX filters. It's not something I need and I won't get it this year, if at all. But, the price is right and it could be a possibility at a later time.Liviou2004 wrote: I am curious to know what do you think the MODX can do that Kronos can't, so that you will buy one ?
Certainly, the Kronos is something that can keep me busy....forever. I have so much more to explore.
Re: No more updates?
Kronos is a 8 YO project, I think is quite normal that Korg stop the upgrade program, probably they are going to release a new modelDrama wrote:Korg kronos is a great keyboard but some absence makes me dissatisfied.

Look at the Yamaha montage!
Montage is a most recent instrument, so is a non sense to compare montage upgrades with Kronos.
Said that, I don't see montage at the same level of Kronos even considering the latest upgrades

I've never had any interest in the Montage but that's only personal taste.
As far as FM programming goes, I think I could get whatever I want out of the Mod-7 engine.
The synth that has my interest even though it's way beyond my budget is the Moog One.
