touch screen erratic.....
As some folks in the general discussion section over at Karma/Oasys forum
noted, some of us have problems with their screen. I never had this before
installing 1.3.
After installing 1.3 I now find too that the touch screen often
behaves erratic, often the very small touch buttons do not react
(the little squares and circles that turn red). But also the big
ones in Disk mode (up, open etc.), mute. rec.play in sequencer mode, etc.
I have recalibrated the screen several times now, but
often there is no response, or only after several touches.
Have no idea why this is.

Hi Rudolf
Now that you mention this, yes i noticed something like this on the weekend while i was playing - pressing the Karma scene buttons causes the Touch monitor to flicker sometimes - i really didnt think much about until i read your post. I have not tried to calibrate the screen - will do so tonight when i get home from work.

Re: touch screen erratic.....
This wouldn't have changed in 1.3. Let us know if the full re-calibration solves the problem, once you've talked with Korg USA.rudolfck wrote:As some folks in the general discussion section over at Karma/Oasys forum

calibration/screen coordinates????
Dan, I have 'talked' to Korg USA and as I mentioned elsewhere they
told me to take the Oaysys to a certified repair center, and you said
that would not be necessary. I hope so because that is a pain and
would cost a lot. This shifted screen coordinates now seem to have been
noted by a few people (karma/oasys/general discussion forum).
Callibration is possible, I know now, at home but I cannot tell because it is
a secret I swore not to tell. And I don't want to try without further
guidance because it is complicated.
I wrote Korg USA a few days ago asking if it is possible to fully calibrate 'at home' and I have note heard back.
This machine has a mode to calibrate beyond the pads and touch screen,
but Korg will not tell me it seems. Or maybe it is a long weekend.
Nonetheless, this touch screen behavior seems new, and deserves some
attention. Maybe only the folks like myself who fomatted the drive while installing 1.3 suffer from it.

I'm still running 1.2.3 and experience this behaviour of the screen sometimes too. Therefor I don't believe that it's an issue of 1.3.
Personally I believe, that the problems having been caused by 1.3 tend to make people more critical and look much closer at certain issues that never have been working very well ... (like occ. freezes, touch-screen behaviour etc.).

Charlie,
personally I find that with nails or not, I have to touch 1/2 cm or so
to the right of the buttons in many pages. And it is so frequent that
I would certainly have noticed this with 1.2.3
See karma/oasys forum/general discussions for similar complaints.
Oh well.

That most certainly is a calibration issue. Is there a documented procedure for the touchscreen or is that another "hidden" function?rudolfck wrote:Charlie,

I tested it with witnesses again yesterday on the Karma GE pages,
the shift occurs mostly on the left-hand side of the screen it seems,
but an hour later or so I could not repeat it.
I.e. then it worked.
There is a hidden calibration mode, but what it does I cannot tell you.
