Sync KP3 with Pro Tools - Doesn't quite work. No Sample Bank

I am trying to record my playing of the KP3 to Pro Tools via Midi. When I play the recorded MIDI back it is controlling the KP3 the way I played it except it is not playing back (or recording) any of the selected sample bank changes I made during the performance.

Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

I'd like to be able to record the midi data from the KP3, edit/arrange it in Pro Tools, then have the KP3 play the edited data so I can record the audio.

Any insight would be appreciated.
