Hi all,
I was visiting a friend and unexpectedly bought a mint condition mpc4000 for US $800 cash - too cheap to pass up I thought. I'll update it to 512MB asap. I've had my oasys 88 for about 2 weeks now, and I recently ordered the unofficial oasys dvd.
I've searched the forums a bit but I'd like to ask how those that have both are using their strengths together. I'm thinking I'll use the mpc400 for its sequencer and drums, but any ideas welcome.
Cheers,
Robert
Stumbled accross an mpc4000, what can it do with the oasys?

Hi, My name is Robert also, I have a MPC 4000 and a Korg Oasys 88 also. You can sync them up to each other and run the audio from the mpc through the Oasys inputs. You can also take all of the sounds out of the MPC and put them in the Oasys.
Make sure that you the aksys software because you can transfer sounds back and forth from the mpc to the computer and vice versa via usb. What I like to do is transfer the files to a folder on the desktop and run them through Wavelab using the batch processor to enhance the sounds.
Also if you use programs like fruity loops you can drag and drop the sounds into the mpc on the desktop without touching the mpc. You can also create programs and pad assignments without touching the mpc.
Hope this helps. It's only a start.
