Looping and note off triggering

Post by WaterHead »

Is there a way to trigger the portion between Loop Start Point and End Point of a set of samples I recorded myself within a multisample by a note off?

Like for example I have a legato string sound I sampled myself. I set loop start and end points in sample mode to fit the sustained part of the sound. When I press a key the sample plays:

Start->End->LoopS.->End->LoopS.->End...

Now I release the key and the sound will stop. Instead I would like the multisample to play from End Point until the real "physical" end of the sample in this case the noise of the player releasing the strings.

I know you can trigger a different multisample within a program by setting the delay parameter to Key Off.
(Program Mode->P1:Edit-Basic->OSC Basic)
Try program A017: Clav 3 w/KeyOff for an example.

But that would require splitting every sample in two parts and mapping the note off sound to a second set of samples. I know other samplers can do this by changing loop mode or something similar. Any ideas?

I was trying to do the same thing, but couldn't find such an option in Extreme's sampler. Obviously it can't do such thing.

Thank you. At least I know why I couldn't find it.
