Hi everyone. I've used my Triton before involving midi by connecting it to a midisport, but since that got fried, I'm trying get it to work with my Pro Tools rig and so far, no luck.
I've downloaded the latest driver from the Korg site and my comp shows no issue with it in hardware manager. (it shows the triton as a usb composite device)
This may be as much of a PT problem as a Triton, but I figured I'd try here first as I'm guessing many of you use PT or something similar.
In global/midi on the triton, I have external usb selected for midi clock and midi channel 1 is selected. In PT, it appears that I have the correct midi instrument and channel selected for my default midi instrument etc.
All I want to do is to record the midi from the performances done on the triton into Pro Tools. As is, the mid track records nothing done on the Triton and the Triton doesn't sound when I click on a key on the midi map...so basically, PT and the Triton aren't communicating.
If any of you can give me some areas to check and troubleshoot, I'd very much appreciate it. I'm not a total noob at this stuff, but I'm no expert either so I'd love to hear from someone who is knowledgable with PT and the TE.
thanks!!
Need a little help with set up using usb midi into Pro Tools

Yeah, sorry man. I use Cubase but I refuse to use USB (too slow for recording) unless I'm just backing up or swapping files.
I thought about this earlier today and I really don't have an answer. I know Pro Tools is a good program and I'm sure others are using it, I just don't know who!!
If I could help ya, I would.

Again, I don't use USB for recording - not even MIDI.
I record MIDI through my Mackie Onyx and use MIDI cables into MIDI connections. This is all transferred to my DAW via firewire (much faster with tons less latency). If I owned Pro Tools, perhaps I could help you. I know how to do this all in Cubase.
Again, sorry and I hope a Pro Tools user answers up!!
