Pa2XPro H/D Defrag or will fail ?

Post by korgpa2xpro »

On A computer you have to defrag the harddrive from time to time because it will fail if not done.
So the korg Pa2xpro has a 30 gb harddrive fitted does this have to be defagged?
If so how?

I don't think you need to de-frag your pa2x hard drive. If you think about it you have no Registry to link to and no programs running in the background. All you have are Folders and files to open. The only links you will have are the txt files if you use them. So IMHO no need to worry. I won't be doing mine soon anyhow. :D

There is a way to defrag the HD on the Pa2x. Use the USB interface and you will see Korg_HD. You can then use Defrag from the PC.

The hard disk is almost unused most of the times. So I do not see any reason to defrag ?

As i always say, why people complicate and make their lives harder???????????
I wish someone would come up here and say that he has 120GB of material
in their own HD unless they are not musicians and just fill it with MP3s...
Then we defragment and the BUGs are starting...we dont make sense...
I have a G5 POWER MAC with 1.5 TB, it had 1.2 TB of movies inside, i have
it almost 4 years and never defragment it...no problems at all...
And dont forget, i run a whole recording studio on it, a whole PRO TOOLS
ACCELL System where i need fast drives...and still never defragmented.
But if you wanna screw your synth then do it...and welcome back here crying
and molesting Korg that the SUCK!
