Oasys price differences...

Post by ausser »

Check out the price difference on Oasys 88 between Thomann nad Digital Village!

http://www.thomann.de/gb/search_dir.htm ... ys&x=0&y=0

http://www.dv247.com/invt/29531/

Its surprised me - I would really have expected Thomann to be at least cheaper as opposed to ALOT more expensive.

Same with the M3.

Yeah, I just bought a M3-M and I got it for 500 Euro cheaper in the UK than the price THomann had quoted.

500 Euro
That's a huge price difference for something so small.

Not sure what's going on at Thomann, but I've noticed all their prices are not being updated to reflect the savings the recession has everyone else focuses on.

Regards.
Sharp.

i did not check the links for the prices, but if you followed the conversion rate between british pound and euro then you'll see a big drop of the british pound. ... could be an explanation for the difference.

The OASYS Is that "cheap" in UK because of the newly introduced 15% VAT replacing the 17.5%. It would nornally cost £5499.

Also, some other advertisers don't show 15% vat prices, but only at "check-out etc

Some prices have rised by almost 40% on certain MI,and many retailers are constantly changing their Prices on a weekly or even daily basis,DV seem to have stayed constant on some items,Thomman were really only cheaper when the Value of the Euro was weak.

I suppose this depends on the Value of the Sterling against the Euro, which has lost a large percentage of its value now,I've noticed various Synths prices have jumped dramatically, for example the Virus TI desktop a week ago was on one retailer £1174.99 now its £1499.99 about 12 months ago the desktop cost £999.99.
DV were selling the DSI P08 for £1099 6 months ago as I almost bought one,Wish I did as its now £1300ish
The Roland V synth GT,Has jumped from £1699 to now £2399,I bought mine almost 12 months ago and it was down to £1499.

Do the Manufacturers set the threshold of prices,if so is the Increase of the Virus TI,to help massage the sales of the newer model TI2 given the not so different prices, people would rather a fresh edition taking into account its probably not that much more expensive

There seems to be no room for discounts in MI sales, with the current financial climate everything seems to be slashed in prices to offset the downturn infact except the MI sector which seems to have gone up!!,but given that most sales of MI are bought from disposable income of which people seem to have little of at the moment,I dare say the Retail side of the more luxury synths etc things will be hit hard unless something is done to aid the sales, even with the new VAT rate things are still well out of scope of people.

The Oasys,on some sites,is still advertised as the same price and has pretty much non fluctuated(£5149-76 key)some of the Retailers have adjusted their VAT rates, but its still selling at the same price it seems to vary, just glad I'm not buying anything at this time if I was I would still be inclined to ask for a Discount,if not I'd take my money elsewhere

I just checked that Tony,

The DV247 OASYS price, as quoted, includes VAT.

Thats a saving of 1 Grand!!! over Thomann.

If you could loose the VAT - that would be a saving over £1600!!!
