void the warranty...?
i had this awesome idea... I don't know if anyone else has thought of it it yet, so just in case i'm gonna say patent pending. haha.
Anybody ever think of changing the LED's around the x-y joystick? maybe change it to some colour scrolling led's? i'm guessing this would void any type of warranty, but think of how awesome it would look!

ya it does look a little whack. very handy when playing live though.Gargamel314 wrote:I think that would void the warranty of the KEYBED at least - i'm not sure if the warranty covers the module and keybed separately. I would LOVE to remove the LED completely from the joystick area. I think it looks gaudy.
yeah actually! I already tried that:/ I had some blue LEDs I was gonna replace the white ones with, however, I took the little screws around that "plate" out, and with all the pressure I could use (without breaking it), that thing still wouldn't budge. But multi-color changing LEDs would be sooo cool. If you can manage to pull it off, let me know, cause I'll totally do it as well. If anyone has any input as to how to remove that cover plate around the joystick, that would be extremely helpful. And so what if it voids the warranty of the keybed:P haha.

No need to remove the cover plate to dismount the stick ! This cover is decorative.
The entire part is fixed by the two screws being located under the keyboard (C).

Caution! The wires are very short.
You can release them if necessary, in this case you must to dismount the cover plate under the keyboard (A)
Don't remove the screws annonced by green arrows (B), they hold an electronic part inside.
The leds (one of each side) are welded onto the electronic plate.
I wanted to change it, but I do not know the technical reference of these leds.
PS ! Sorry for my bad english...

Korg M3 Xpanded 61 (Exb-Radias, Exb256), Z1 (Exb-Z1, Card 4mo), Triton, Yamaha Motif XS8 (1giga), TG77, Kurzweil K2000VP (64mo, Romskit, sampling), Roland JD990 + SRJV80 Vintage, VSynth GT.
ahhh thank you very much for the info! However, it appears as though you have the M3-61. I've got the 88 key version, and on the underside, there is a long wood board running the length of the keybed, so....there aren't any screws holding the joystick in place:/
This is fantastic news for anyone with an M3-61, and maybe 73 (not sure on that).
